hamit altintop....the attacking player can play second striker too

Yeah they signed Hamit Altintop, but Hamit is the Turkeys RB, who also plays in midfield. I think you're thinking of his brother EMIR8, who plays up front or in support of the striker

They said 'destination unknown', which means he will probably return to the UAE league-lol.

Shame he never made it at Bayern, technically he is as good as any one, but mentally he is quite Hleb esq.

Before Karimi came to Bayern, was he playing in the same league as Batistuta or was Batistuta in Qatar? Its a bit off-topic, but how is Iranian football progressing now, mate?

To be honest with you mate im not 100% sure, but I think they played in the same league. Karimi has been really disapointing. He could have become a top top player but he did not have the right approach(i.e. professionalism), and mentality to become one.

Iranian football has many problems, mate. And the football authorities will never have full autonomy due to politics and external issues related to the government. As a result this hinders development and proper nurturing of players, and the Iranian FA has many limitations. However, a good few have found themselfs playing in Europe, especially in my beloved Bundesliaga  Theres even one guy playing for Bolton in the Premiership!

Having said that, they have not done too bad in World Cups recentley, famously beating USA 2-1 in France 98.

Btw, I always meant to ask you this, as Croatia was part of the former Yugoslavia, and are your close neighbours, did you support them in France 98 and were you happy with their success? What about Serbia and other countries that like Bosina used to be part of Yugoslavia? Do you see them as friendly rivales or do you always want them to do well as well?

Thanks for that, mate. Interesting to read. That guy who plays for Bolton is Armenian-Iranian? And you also have Nekounam at Osasuna  . The war or aggression against Bosnia has made it hard for many to have sympathy with our neighbours, mate. Everything in the Balkans is viewed upon through politics. I can only speak for myself, I have no feelings when Serbia or Croatia play, but I prefer Croatia to Serbia to be honest. Do not shoot me for thinking like that  .

Nah, As long as we are higher than Mancs in 13th place, I'm fine with it. Although It is a wonder, how in the name of hell Chelsea ranked to 2nd place!? How do they really calculate these bloody ranks?

I'm actually suprised to see Sp**s in there albeit it's 48th place  When was the last time they were in CL ? The squirrel has more experience than they were.

This is how they calculate it:

Let's take Sevilla as an example. They played 15 games in the Uefa cup gaining 25 points(not 100% sure, but I belive it is 1 for draw, 3 for win) from those games.
7 clubs from Spain played in European cups last season. Those 7 clubs played 80 matches and gained 131 points.

So the calculation for Sevilla last season looks like this:

25 + 131/7*0,33 = 31,27

You then add 31,27 with the previous 5 seasons and you have your ranking.
