Another reason why we wont win the league under Wenger again : this mentality that the ref is against us rather than tell our defenders to not move like headless chickens. Look at Cech arguing against Mike Dean, do your bloody job and defend a pen mate

Lol. Gibbs is a few feet from Chambers, who had his arms tucked in to avoid a hand ball if they were out to the side. Gibbs litterally crissed the ball right into his forearm. It's not as if Chambers tried to stop the ball with his arm. No pen for me.

Amazing how people's anti Wenger agenda is used to post silly comments like this.

Just no identity as a team anymore, shocking football played. Unlucky with the penalty but the performance was dire.

Only have to look at chambers face, he thinks that ball is going to hit him in the face so he keeps his arms down and in. If his arms are not there then the ball hits his stomach.

Thought the ref was shocking, how many times did jack get taken out by a west brom thug? Barry left one on kola and no yellow and fouls his way through the game from then on.

Positives, sanchez played well again and thought xhaka and Wilshere in cm looked decent. Chambers did well today, it was a ariel bombardment and he stood up well to it. 2017 over and transfer window open.

Negatives, kos and kola out injured and chelsea just around the corner.

It's just the typical rubbish, people looking for any excuse.

The fact is we struggled to do anything of note against the bottom team.
Nah, Ive taken your stance many times this season but what Dean did there is ****ing bollocks. We were sh!t but we got a goal and we were easily the better team for what thats worth. We get a deserved goal for being overall the better team and we have it inexplicably wiped out by the worst handball call I can remember. How the christ can you call that an 'excuse'? If that's so, you cant ever claim the team, or any team, has ever been robbed. Simple as that.

So the ball could be kicked into your face at point blank range.

You just ignore instinct, and take it to the face. Right?

I've watched it again, distance is the only question mark.

Regardless, Chambers had his arms flaying all over the place when approaching Gibbs. Watch Mustafi approach a player in a similar position and he always has his arms behind his back

Besides, ball was at his body, not his face.

Poor performance, but we should have had all 3 points.. Desperately need Özil and Ramsey back and we need to strengthen in january if we want top 4..

What bothers me about this is how much we rely on one or two pieces of the puzzle.

Poor overall structure to our setup, we are in trouble going into the second half of the season. Özil, Ramsey, Sanchez need to be wrapped up in cotton wool.

Remember all those jokes about Arsenal and attacking midfielders? Well now when we need someone to bring on for a bit of extra creativity going forward all we have is Welbeck

Feel sorry for Chambers, he was solid today. Jack tried hard as well.
Iwobi and Laca are simply not good enough. Not sure where we will end if Alexis leaves next month.

Rock bottom will start looking a lot closer.

Disclaimer : By our lofty standards as a big club rock bottom in this case would be decidedly mid table.

This!

Let's assume it was the other way around, we would just be saying the same thing. Although he is very close to the defender, arms are moving towards the ball so a fair penalty to me.

We were just awful and didn't deserve anything more than a draw ...

No we wouldn't , his arms are tucked into his body , it if doesn't strike his arm it strikes his body . Ridiculous pen .

Should have put his arms behind his back, no problem. He made it easy for the ref.
