League is very weak
the funny thing even before Arteta wenger was always calling these incompetent people and of course they didn't listen and just tell him stop being soft but with VAR you'd think they be more competent turn out it got worse.

When Wenger was calling out officials, Arsenal fans were telling him to stop making excuses and get on with it.

Yeah good coach, but like a lot of coaches they should just be given players to work with. This is a man who worked with Mari at city and thought it was good idea to sign him.
He thought Mari was an ok left CB. It was at a time when Kia & Edu were running the show & left sided CBs are pretty hard to find.
Tbf to Mari while limited he was okish until he got exposed by Lukaku.

At least we got a few million for him unlike £30m+ Mustafi or Roberto Holdini.

As far as recruitment goes both coaches & people in the 'edu' role will ALWAYS get some wrong.
On the whole though recruitment has been pretty decent.
Facts:
A combination of largely solid recruitment & good coaching is why we got back into the UCL & challenged for the title last season.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
