Give OL Jeff on loan. He desperately needs to be involved in first team football ot he may not make it if he doesn't get a bit of a breakthrough next season. Lyon aren't filled with midfielders and don't have anybody creative. They play positional football from the academy up so it'll do him good.

Only illogical minds want Giroud to stay as our main striker, minds that are happy with 4th place or even Europa League.

Some guys on twitter are saying that interview was already before our new bid, because Lyon got the replacement for Laca.

I still hope he comes, he would be a good signing.

So are you worried we're signing Lacazette?
Not worried, a little bit sad but we knew that he was going to leave.

Honestly we are even surprised to be able to keep him so long. He could have left after 2014/15 before he extend his contract and also last year.
So we knew it was a matter of time before he leaves.
He improved every year and so his tag price. He will be our record sale of all time and he's from our academy so 100% added value.

I'm worried about replacing him.

- The meeting reported between Houiller Aulas & Wenger about Lacazette is true.

- Wenger told them Arsenal was interested.

- He's expecting the same offer Atletico has made €53M+12M in bonuses.

- he says he's in no rush in selling Lacazette. He wants to buy his replacement first.

- He says it's to early to say that Lacazette is going to Arsenal.

- They want Giroud. Giroud has told them he was interested. But his 1st option is to stay at Arsenal IF he is our #1 striker. He wants to play as much as possible for the WC.

- He says it's in Wenger's hands. If Wenger wants Lacazette & he pays the price they expect, this deal will be done.

IMO Aulas is putting pressure on Arsenal to pay them what they're expecting & to get Giroud.

Let's be real.... If it weren't for the Mbappe saga people would be posting GIFs nonstop right now. We were all spoiled by the hopes of landing arguably the biggest talent in the world of football right now.

Don't let that bring you down on Lacazette. He'll be bagging in 20+ league goals in no time and people will then shut the **** up.

Of all the strikers mentioned no one fits our current squad better. We'd have to make some serious changes to fit some of the other options.... And those options are more costly and some of them less proven at that (i.e. Morata).

People don't rate the signing because they just aren't excited about it. Even I can admit he isn't an exciting player as such. Not that marquee signing everyone wants but it's about a team effort at the end of the day.

If Lacazette fits our system perfectly then great. You wouldn't class a single Sp**s player as a marquee player except maybe eriksen. But their system and team work brilliantly together. They have a pure goalscorer.

hopefully we do now as well!

We do. He is.

Your belief that the first bolded sentence is true lead you to write the next two. What's interesting is that you just as easily could have chosen to focus on his excellent conversion rate, the enormous number of chances we create and how much better our overall play is with a pacy striker but that would have led away from the very dubious claim that he's a Giroud level player.

He's a better finisher than Giroud, has a better first touch than Giroud, is a better dribbler than Giroud, has more pace than Giroud, has a better weak foot than Giroud. And the only real concern is a price tag that frankly is wholly irrelevant to any of us because we don't have to pay it. If Lacazette comes here he will score more than Giroud because he has the skills to create chances for himself, the pace to latch onto passes Giroud can't dream of getting to and the composure to put them away. The fact that he converts penalties is hardly a black mark against him.

By the way the 2014-2015 season that you chose to highlight he was a year older than Benzema was in his last season at Lyon playing in a worse setup than Benzema had been in and he scored 10 more league goals. Even Benzema's best season was 7 goals short of what Lacazette did in 2014-2015. He's only gotten better since then. So this idea that he's Giroud level is laughable really. There's a reason that Lacazette has over 200 appearances for Lyon and Giroud only had 73 top flight appearances before his move here. Lacazette is better than Giroud was when he arrived, more suited to the game we want to play and will perform better than Giroud has if he comes here.

He's obviously a better striker and footballer than Giroud but you have to admit the amount of goals he scores without penalty's is pretty **** for someone in the French League.

Selling Giroud with just Welbeck and Lacazette as recognised strikers would be a mistake.

World Cup year, years on the contract, he has now power to make demands of being first choice.

When a chairman telling these stuff that's mean we already in advanced talks with them. when he say it's premature to say Laca to Arsenal is done and we need to find a replacement before selling that's mean we are in final stages to complete the deal.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal was firmly embedded in the local community and had a very solid, working-class foundations. The fans espoused the club's values. This visceral attachment, from childhood, to a club and a team is something I have never seen anywhere else with such fervour. Every fan's first match at Highbury was like a baptism.
