Director of football Richard Garlick will leave the Premier League to become Arsenal’s new director of football operations, David Ornstein can reveal.
The Athletic understands Garlick will leave later this year, having first taken up a role with the division in summer 2018.
He succeeds Huss Fahmy in the position and will work closely with Edu.
Who is Richard Garlick?
Garlick is the director of football at the Premier League. In his role, he has the task of overseeing football operations, football relations, youth development, coaching and young player education.
He was previously director of football administration at West Brom and prior to that worked at a number of law firms
before moving into football administration.
He is a qualified solicitor specialising in sports law.
What will his role be at Arsenal?
He will work closely with Edu and takes the position previously held by Huss Fahmy.
His background in law is part of what Arsenal were looking for from their new director of football operations.
Garlick will be expected to work on contracts at the Emirates Stadium.
