these three played the full 90 mins as if we were up by four goals. slow and sloppy. i'e long given up on denilson, who can not fathm how and why anyone would defend. he's a horribly average footballer.

Almunia - 7 Cant complain at all. He had little to do but what he did, especially in the first half he did perfectly

Sagna - 4 absolute ****ing muck in attack today. Couldn't get a ball past the first defender
Touré - 7 worked hard and was the best of our defence today. Joined the attack pretty well
Gallas - 5 did nothing in defence really, some really bad passes and was **** when he joined the attack
Clichy - 5 did **** all in attack or defence

Arshavin - 7 bright in the first half, looked most likely to cause them trouble
Song - 2 just **** off.
Denilson - 6 efficient but unimaginative. Worked his socks off. At least looked as if he cares.
Nasri - 4 poor. Lacked any cutting edge at all.

Bendtner - 6 worked his socks off and credit for that but never made anything of it.
RvP - 3 did nothing, never even looked like he cared

Subs -
Vela - 4 movement was good, finishing was pathetic
Eboue - what was the point?
Gibbs - should have come on earlier, in the little time he had he did well. Won the ball, created a great chance.

Yup - IMO our pattern of play is as responsible for the inept performance of our midifield as the players are - we persist in wanting to get aheaf of the ball carrier, but we leave them isolated with only the CBs free to pass to, or the FBs on the flanks - too often the rest are pushed forward & static amongst the defenders, and then we try to pass thru' the middle because we don't know how to switch play, our passing is horribly under weighted.

I'll agree with those bar Toure, who goes forward but just messes up and congests everything.

.

Apart from keeping Jones quiet and generally having a solid game? He was also pressing us forward and gave it his all offensively. He cant win all games on his own.

5=average

Almunia - 7 Good, solid performance
Sagna - 6.5 At least he stayed active with an excellent work rate; gives it his all
Touré - 7 Solid
Gallas - 7 Solid
Clichy - 4 Having a nightmare of a season
Arshavin - 6 Decent debut
Song - 3 Slow as molasses
Denilson - 3
Nasri - 4.5 Ran around alot; kind of clueless at times; reminded me of another "headless chicken" who used to play here
Bendtner - 4 When the ball is coming towards him, he seems to be a step behind getting to it; very frustrating to watch him
RvP - 4
Vela - 4 Can't miss those kind of chances

Touré - 4
Gallas - 6
Clichy - 3 he has been poor all season
Arshavin - 6
Song - 1 useless player
Denilson - useless playerbeen like that all season.
Nasri - 3 one good game followed by a poor game etc
Bendtner - 3
RvP - 4

Subs -
Vela - 2 not ready we are expecting too much from the youngsters
Eboue cant believe he is playing for us
Gibbs- gibbs is better at going forward than clichy but defesively he is as useless as him would do a job in the mid week if clichy is still injured.

Almunia - 6 Nothing to do basically, but he did do well on the 2 or 3 occasions he had to deal with things.

Sagna - 3 Shocking display. He wasted possession ALL THE TIME without ever creating the slightest chance. Defensiveley he wasnt called into action often but at least did do well then. Best describing memory: He managed to knock the simplest pass to play into the sideline and then made a face expression like "What the **** did just happen".
Touré - 5 Difficult to rate our defenders today...he wasnt bad maybe, but there was another very fitting memory of Toure and Jones (I think Jones) running for a ball, Toure got overrun badly and does a clumsy foul to stop Jones with the ref waving play on...phew. Hes nto at all good enough for us.
Gallas - 5.5 Basically like Toure but minus the overrun part.
Clichy - 4 Just like Sagna but at least he didnt try to cross that often. Honestly he is declining already it seems.

Arshavin - 7 MOTM for us. Basically all our good chances were due to him. We didnt create anything when he was off. He actually managed to hit the target AND he was able to find someone with his crosses. Neither of wich was to be achieved by almost all our other players.
Song - 3 ****. Not one good moment offensively, wayward passing (and thats a very nice description as he was way worse then that). Did recoup the ball at times, but mostly only when he lost it before.
Denilson - 4 Nothing going forward, not a lot going backwards. Well not a lot sums it up.
Nasri - 4 Shocking. No creativity, no urgency, no nothing again. And no defensive parts. What is happening?

Bendtner - 5 Actually one of our better players but also not a great performance. Had one very good header, and at least managed to create a little bit.
RvP - 4 Similar to Bendtner in a way that both didnt really figure much in the game. Had two great chances and screwed both of them.

Subs -
Vela - 4 Two good chances and boy did he waste them. I told you he wasnt starting material and he has proven that today. He would be superb to bring on once we lead with 2 or 3 goals but thats never gonna happen in the near future.
Eboue 5 One of our better players. With him we had 2 more chances. I still felt he wasnt good at all, but still, better then most of the other guys.
Gibbs 5 Difficult to rate him but he was better then Clichy for the time he was on.

Completely agree with both of you there.

Arsenal Quotes

A team can attack for too long. The most opportune time for scoring is immediately after repelling an attack, because opponents are then strung out in the wrong half of the field. All the men are expected to play to plan, but not so as to stifle individuality
