No way we should play Joel Campbell here. He already looks knackered and this will be his 3rd game in a week after not starting for months. It would be very risky and he could get an injury easily.

Anyway, it makes no difference between winning and drawing assuming Olympiacos wins tomorrow and loses to Bayern on MD5. We will still need to win in Piraeus no matter what.

The only difference between that and losing is that if we lose we will need to win Olympiacos by 2 clear goals rather than just winning.

I'm pretty sure the only decision that has to be made is in regards to Campbell playing or going with the more defensive option in Flamini.

The only way a player improves with minutes. At Sheffield he was crap, at Swansea he scored. We need him to keep improving with oxlade out, and the only way is with games.

Won't see much of the ball and will need to break with pace. We need all the speed merchants on the pitch, even the half decent ones. Gonna be painful with Giroud upfront but we won it last time with him on the pitch mind. We have to go long.

I would play Flamini and Coquelin in midfield and move Cazorla wide, we wont see much of the ball so we need all the tacklers we can have, we dont have anything on the bench so starting Campbell there and bringing him on late on would be a good idea.
Either way, backs to wall job against the best in Europe, not expecting too much , whatever happens , Sp**s on Sunday is the big one this week.

Let's pretend that Flamini actually will win the ball, what will he then do with it? Give it away.

Santi is the our most important player in a game like this, he'll dribble his way out of their pressing and pick out the likes of Özil and Sanchez in better positions.

Should stay where he is, shifting him wide would kill any chances of us winning this game.

Fitness permitting, Campbell should start (although he may well be knackered).

If not, Özil out wide and we play a slightly deeper midfield 3 with Flamini coming in.

Watched Sp**s tonight and apart from the goals they looked absolutely trash.. Play full team v Munich and reserves v Sp**s lol

Dropping Monreal against Bayern would be really unfair on him (tho I wouldn't mind Joel there either) and it would be better to have more prolific tacklers and interceptors closer to midfield and wide. Alexis and Özil are more than good enough off the ball runners. And increasing the chances of winning the ball back increases chances of counters.

I include Flamini because we could do with more legs to surpass the pressure and in recovery. Sometimes, a defensive player is brought on while chasing a game to free up the offensive players. He is our most fresh mid and an experienced player who can play a sort of box to box role. Then, Coq can mostly focus on defensive movement while Flamini makes space for Santi when needed.

And playing 3 at the back could give us another spare player with the chance to start a counter.

We played Saturday, Bayern is Wednesday and spuds Sunday, then international break where none of our big guns need to play. Don't need to rest anyone this week , imho.

Why all this "3 at the back"- madness? It could seriously **** up things changing our line up that drastically and having all of our proper CB on the pitch at the same time... an injury on of them and we're in a dire situation in that deparment.

We should go with the usual line up, simply because we're playing away from home against Bayern and we don't have any other options at the moment. With that said I'd wish to some minor changes of course, beacuse of the derby on Sunday. But what can you do about it, really?

Why not see it as 5 at the back? In theory we only need a point.

The stone that the builders refuse
Play Campbell for this, rest him against Sp**s, unleash local lad Iwobi who scores a hattrick against Sp**s and sends us into raptures.

Lovely thought but Campbell will play BOTH games........Iwobi's not ready yet. Even Wenger said so.
