That’s a fair offer. Especially with Raya pushing. Think it gets done for around £25-27M. Brentford in a terrible position.

If Turner goes for £10-12M then I think Raya for £13Mish is excellent business. Even if it’s just a backup keeper it’s superb. But he will push Aaron a lot.

I'm still not convinced by him. Goalkeeping for Brentford is different to goalkeeping for Arsenal. At Brentford, he is keeping through a crowd of players. At Arsenal, he'll often be left isolated, 1v1 game, positioning and decision making needs to be strong. You can't be 6ft and good 1v1.

1 vs 1 is a really, really bad metric to define overall goalkeeping ability. I honestly can’t remember many times of any where Ramsdale was isolated last season.

On top of that being 1 vs 1 isn’t Raya’s fault and it’s actually on the striker to score that chance. If a striker doesn’t score a clear 1 on 1 then that is absolutely the strikers fault.

I watch all The Barclays. You on the other hand have proven to be a stat merchant. I prefer the eye test first.

I don’t think we’ll go much higher. We weren’t in for him earlier in the window and happy for Sp**s to have a run at him when the fee demanded by Brentford was higher. This seems opportunistic if we can get him fairly cheap given how things have played out, but I don’t think we’re interested if not at a cut price.

I was hoping for Maignan. Don't get me wrong, i like Raya, just not convinced he's title winning level.

Such a strange investment this. We could have gone for Kudus with this money. I don't know the stats, but whenever I have watched Brentford he lets in everything shot with a little venom from outside the box. Ramsdale has a presence. Raya doesn't. May be he will suit Arteta like Nketiah in the sense of being another pet. Plus goalkeepers needs to be relaxed, not worry about making mistakes. Having two decent keeps will make the one who plays always feel under pressure knowing that a few mistakes and he is out. Arteta couldn't keep Leno or Martinez as No 2. Can't see how he keeps both in the club.

Yeah fairs. I think how much better Raya is than Ramsdale is definitely up for debate.

I read a while ago the plan was always for the squad to fill both goalkeeper slots with homegrown players, so there’s also that going for Raya.
