He isn’t a good coach tactically. He copies everything Pep and Klopp do; even when he doesn’t have personnel for it and hurts us. Look at this Zinny as inverted fullback nonsense he uses that leaves us over exposed in every big match

Yeah it's clear that he impresses people with attention to detail. I don't think anyone can question him tactically and how he sees the game, but it's only one part of management. He's certainly improved in the other aspects but there's still huge question marks. Titles are won by human beings with real emotions who've got to go through fire to get them, it takes more. Hopefully he can continue to improve in these aspects of his management so he can eventually win serious titles with this team.

When it comes to winning titles (the league and the CL specifically), there's almost an invisible barrier which must be broken, it goes beyond just getting things right tactically most game weeks, eventually the pressures, the emotions, small margins in games you think you've done enough to win all factor more than simply getting it right tactically when it comes down to the crunch. These next few weeks are less about the players doing everything he asks for and more about the team having the confidence, the belief and the hunger to really dig out these results which are needed to give the team a serious chance of nicking the title.

He can’t rate players at all, until he can rate talent he will never be a title winning manager. We are well drilled but that is not the tactical skill most required of a manager.

Isn’t that just the way football has gone over the last decade? Pressing forwards was a staple of Guardiola’s Barcelona teams back in 09/10. Eto’o used to press like a monster for Barca at that time.

I wouldn’t call us a direct side at all in the way Liverpool are but would like us to do a bit more of that. We are infuriatingly wedded to the idea that the ball has to travel via certain patterns before someone can take a shot.

Yes so you agree Mik is tactically rigid making our play too predictable, everything dependent on Saka and Ødegaard. I been saying the same thing for years

On Havertz and Zinny left side combo, that did actually directly lead to a number of prromising positions against Villa. It was, in my view, exactly the right tactic, undermined repeatedly by poor final act execution. If Trossard doesn't toe his sitter into Martinelli, they have to come out more and the Havertz runs from deep become more potent.

Where arteta failed was not reacting to Villa's half-time tactical change to shut down that avenue due to a lack of trust in those bench players that are fit until it was too late. This also leads directly into the Saka point.

Question is: Is it him being fearful or is it the squad quality being too poor? Also specifically, most of our better rotation players aren't fit right now. Partey can barely walk judging by recent subs, zinny, Vieira, Tomi all not fully fit (as well as Saka, Martinelli Jorgi and probably others, including Jesus).

Ultimately our hale end kids should be vital components the way the squad is constructed, and Arteta seems to lost faith in all but Saka.
