Lehmann - 8 - maybe at fault for the goal, but made up for it with some great saves, annoying temperament showed though
Campbell - 7.5 - A much improved performance than at Sunderland, made some good tackles
Toure - 7.5 - solid defending most of the time
Cole - 7.5 - lively, great to see him back, could improve futher though
Eboue - 8 - superb assist, good runs during the game
Hleb - 7.5 - made some good dribbles and looked to create well
Ljunberg - 7.5 - bit quiet but good finish for the goal, great to see him break the duck
Song - 6 - Well he did try but just cannot lift us to another level
Gilberto - 8 - was very good in first half, created attackingly as well as defended well, this is the sort of performance i want to see more from him
Van Persie - 7 - some good touches and shots, but in the first half couldnt deal with physical play, better in the second half, but he had to come of for fresh legs
Henry - 9 - not so good in first half except for his brilliant assist, but came on amazingly in the second half

Fabregas - 8.5 - well it was so obvious when he came on the midfield just seemed a lot more fluid
Reyes - 8.5 - scored two goals, nuff said
Pires - 8 - great assist

we could split this up into 2... first half ratings and 2nd half.

we were rubbish in the first, wouldn't rate anyone above 5.

Van Persie's going to get a slaughtering here, but people should pay attention to his link play. There was a massive gap in the first half between our midfield and attack because Song and Gilberto both were naturally inclined to sit deep, and RVP saw this and filled it time and again and helped our counter attacking.

Jens 5 - Didnt look like our player of the month. Very wound up, very easily.

Eboue 7 - Same old Eboue.
Kolo 7 - Same old Kolo.
Sol 6 - Getting better, still has some way to go.
Ash 7 - Looked tired in the first half; better 2nd half though

Hleb 6 - Tried to impose himself on the game, but his team-mates didnt help.
Ljungberg 6 - Same as above, good goal (about fecking time ;))
Song 4 - 6ft sack of ****.
Gilberto 7 - Invisible - yet he was instrumental in breaking up opposition play yet again. it's what he does best.

Henry 7 - touches of brilliance.
RVP 4 - mediocre; lacks confidence.

you have to remember i missed half of the 2nd half, so they might be a bit off.

lehmann - 6
strangely average today. was partly to blame for the goal.

eboue - 7
mediocre first half, very good second half. superb run and assist to reyes' first goal. needs to work on his positioning when the ball is crossed in from the left. has a tendency to drift a bit too much into the middle...

toure - 6
pretty good, but a bit sloppy at times.

sol - 7
he played well imo. a few poor passes, but that is hardly a surprise. strong and solid.

cole - 6,5
quiet first half, better in the 2nd half. still needs match practice.

ljungberg - 6,5
great goal, but other than that he didn't offer much to the team.

song - 5
a few nice touches, but the dude can't pass!

gilberto - 7
played well.

hleb - 6,5
decent, but a bit sloppy at times.

henry - 7
two assists, but looked a bit rusty at times.

van persie - 6,5
decent. a few great touches, but held on to the ball a bit too long a few times as well.

cesc - 8,5
what a player. when he came on, we suddenly looked like a quality side again. a genuine class act.

reyes - 8
scored two great goals. who said he is a left winger?

pires - 6
quiet

jens - 7.5. would have got 8 for some good saves and also being a character, but was at a bit of fault for the goal
eboue - 8. great player, and it looks like his final ball has improved
sol - 7.5. finally a good game from sol. well done
toure - 7. not much to say really
cole - 7. not as good as he has been in the past, but ok game, needs fitness
freddie 7- well taken goal. not much else from him
gilberto 7- done his job well
song 6- flashes of good stuff, but unimpressive
hleb - 7. not much impact today
rvp- 6- not much going on for him, would have been through if he didnt fall on his ass (again...)
henry 8- another 2 assists.

cesc 8- changed the game, wouldnt have won without him
reyes- 8 same as above
pires - 7. little impact, but had spells

if that was the case we would have been 2-0 up wen eboue had the chance to square henry he pulled it behind him

he just didnt realise how fast henry was moving. he's passing is getting better, and its showing, he just missed one ball today.

Whats going on with Song? Poor ratings and things said about him time after time! However AW must see something in him, so i wont say he's useless...yet!!
Also Reyes' second goal. Wow!

Jens Lehmann - 7
Probably should've done better for the City goal, but it was a difficult moment as I'm sure he wasn't 100% sure whether the player ahead of him would've taken it or not. Had to react late.

Ashley Cole - 7
Didn't jet down the left very often as we are used to seeing from him, but was still assured when in possesion. Pressured the City players well and didn't allow many crosses in when one-on-one with a defender.

Sol Campbell - 7
Still got improvement in him, but his performance today was much more convincing than the match against Sunderland. Made an awesome last ditch tackle that I could watch over and over again.

Kolo Toure - 6
Did well but should've stayed with his man at the City corner which resulted in the goal. It was his man which headered the ball into the mixer resulting in their goal. Other than that, a good performance.

Emmanuel Eboue - 7
Did well on the right and gave us his usual runs up the field. Set up Reyes for the match-winning goal and was alright defensively. Has to improve his positioning though.

Gilberto - 7
Did his job and did it well.

Alexandre Song - 7
Was a surprise inclusion for me in the midfield alongside Gilberto, but he did well. Showed us a bit more of an attacking side today and did some good things.

Aliaksandr Hleb - 7
Did some good things, but also did some bad things. Gave away a few passes, which we've come to expect. Once he eliminates this wasteful aspect of his game, will always continue to be inconsistant.

Freddie Ljungberg - 7
Added an extra attacking elemant other than Henry and van Persie and was rewarded with a goal today. A good finish, and was unlucky not to get a second. However other than that, didn't offer much.

Robin van Persie - 6
Doesn't have much of a right foot on him, and with Henry usually comandeering the left hand side of the pitch, leaves him on his weaker side a lot of the time. Probably lacking in confidence a bit, but needs to keep onside and time his runs better.

Thierry Henry - 8
Made some mezmerising runs through-out the match and you just felt he would put in a goal of the year candidate. Unfortunately it didn't happen. 9 times out of 10 when he had possession, he worried the City defence and created two goals when any other striker would've had a shot at goal.

SUBS

Francesc Fabregas - 8
As has been mentioned previously, when he came on, added another aspect to our game. Expected though seeing that Song and Gilberto are both midfielders of the defensive variety.

Jose Antonio Reyes - 8
Proved to be the match-winning substitute in the end. Scored two goals, the first being the better. Good to see an Arsenal player running into the box when so many times we see that same kind of ball run harmlessly across the goal and cleared. Should play there more often.

Robert Pires - 7
Was a part of setting up the match-winning goal goal and was ok after that.

After Ryes had his wisdom tooth extracted, he finally showed some wisdom inside the box. Good work Reyes!! :D

Song improved a lot comparing to his performance in the last two games. Gilberto didn't play better than Song unfortunately. Cesc was tremendous everywhere. The little Spaniard could control the rythme of the game, distribute the ball, and close down the cloaset opponent in possession fairly well.

Robin didn't exhibit much wisdom on the pitch, perhaps he need a dentist looking into his wisdom teeth.

I actually think that it was Song's man and not Toure's who headered the ball back in for the goal.

taking the piss out of song eh?

i've just downloaded and watched the replay and it was trevor sinclair who got the header... he was far at the edge and no one closed down on him and the nearest person was toure...

song was nowhere near sinclair.. he was marking vassell or richards i couldn't tell who that manc was really...
