Fabianski- minus 10- I have never given a minus rating before. in fact, I never had contemplated a situation where I might possibly consider it. But this was appalling . 100% at fault for the first goal obviously- bad concentration and technique. 100% at fault for the second also- he had the choice to stay and have the ball passed to him, come and clear it from outside the area, he did neither- he said nothing and came half way- he STILL had the opportunity to hack clear what was obviously a back pass that Campbell had no choice but to play. Then once he gave away the freekcik, he STILL had an opportunity to gave set in his goal. Throughout this match he demonstrated appalling technique and worse concentration, people complain about almunia’s distribution but tonight Fabianki’s was much worse even though he had bendtner to aim at- a luxury alumnia very rarely had. ALmunia may be average- give me averageness over this out and out liability. Also, almunia may well be a big game bottler, but this is another level- in fact since the Chelsea semi final fiasco fabianski hasn’t showed the slightest signs of recovering. Appalling. Teams never score from indirect freekicks from passbacks- not if the team has an ounce of organisation.

Sagna-5- average

Sol-7- very good, showed soem great experience- is slower but coped with that, good goal- had no choice to do what he did for the second. He should have reacted quicker but then I don’t blame him for being utterly dumbstruck by fabianski’s ineptitude.

Verm-6- okay, we are too slow at the back with him and sol though

Clichy-5- caught a couple of times

Denilson-4- did he play? Might as well have fielded song’s fart- too weak on and off the ball.

Diaby-5- looked like diaby of old- too many touches, retained the ball too long, never made the right pass.

Cesc-6- tried, but was kicked to smithereens...

Rosicky-3- they sloppiest player on the pitch- should have won a penalty but otherwise consistently gave the ball away.

Nasri-4- better than rosicky, but in the second half he just decided to try and kick everyone

Bendtner-5- a physical presence, and held the ball up well, but has no cutting edge to his game

Walcott-5- a half decent outing from him, a couple of good runs, some very important defensive work, but still the decision making and end ball are lacking. Also doesn’t always play to his strengths- doesn’t make the kind of runs that will benefit his pace.

vela-4- him coming on as the lone striker ended any realistic chance for us- shoudl have coem on for a midfielder.

Eboue-8- when eboue was ****e, and he was. Wenger played him week in week out at right midfield. Now, eboue has, somehow or other, become a genuinely useful player at RB or RM- and wenger refuses to use him. Was on for 3 minutes and nearly got 2 assists- it is clear to everyone that nasri and rosicky do not work in conjunction on the wings- eboue has huge potential to open up defences from the right wing- but we play 2 weak central playermakers there- who simply have nothing to aim at because all the players are battling to getting into the perfect position to make a pass- no one cares the slightest about getting on the end on it. if eboeu had have played for 20 mins we would have scored.

Wenger constantly annoys me with his counter-intuitive team selections- I know it wasn’t all his fault today cossa injuries but it was still wrong. I was pissed off at porto’s tactics and the referee but if this team had the tiny tiny tiniest bit of discipline they wouldn’t have conceded the second.
But despite all that- we would have won tonight with a goalkeeper in goal- I’ll have mannone until al is back please

Re: Match ratings: Porto vs Arsenal

Fairly close to you Ibby, but a point lower for Denilson and Diaby.

Campbell is the man. Masterstroke signing, but undermined by s**t GK's yet again.

It doesn't excuse Fabianski's blunders but Campbell played his part in the second goal, firstly he need not have made the back pass and then for such an experienced defender he switched off, really only his goal redeemed him from a 4 rating!

Fabianski: 3 - Literally cost us the game

Sagna: 5 - Don't know where he kept disappearing off to, but I saw Nasri, Walcott, Campbell, Diaby and even Clichy covering the right back spot. Wasn't very good when he WAS there.

Campbell (Ignoring Porto's 2nd): 8 - Defensively sound, slow but strong, some good tackles and a good headed goal.

Campbell (Including Porto's 2nd): 6 - Had absolutely no reason to touch the ball for Porto's second goal. It was going to Fabianski, quite comfortably, but he kicked it for no reason whatever and then turned off and had a small sulk when he should've been thinking about the free kick like Vermaelen did.

Vermaelen: 6 - Average. Reckless first half, calmed second.

Clichy: 5 - Not sure when he's meant to be regaining his form, but I hope it's quick.

Diaby: 7 - Would've given him 8, except he switched off and became s**t in the last 15 minutes. Other than that, did excellently keeping and holding up the ball, and did defensive duties well too.

Denilson: 6 - Didn't hinder the team, but didn't offer too much either.

Fabregas: 6 - Ineffective, but tried hard amidst being roughed up.

Rosicky: 7 - Pretty much the only attacking player to do something.

Nasri: 5 - Ineffectual all game. Did absolutely nothing. Beside shoulder barge a Porto played. Liked that.

Bendtner: 5 - Had one good header on goal that forced a good save, and that was all he did in 80 minutes.

Walcott: 5 - Glimmers of something resembling the start of stuff he did maybe sometimes when he had decent form.

Vela: 5 - Touched the ball once, maybe? Thought this could've been his kind of team to play against seeing as this is the kind of country he'll end up playing in.

Eboue: 6 - Made our best attack.

Fabianski - 0 Singlehandedly the worst performance I've seen season long. He was somehow worse than Average Al. BRING IN SZCZNEY FROM LOAN YOU CHEAPSKATE.

Sagna - 6

Campbell - 6 (+1 for the goal he scored)

Vermin - 5

Clichy - 4

Denilson - 5.5 Better than both Cesc and Diaby today.

Diaby - 5

Cesc - 5

Bendtner - 5.5

Nasri - 5.5

Rosicky - 5.5

Eboue - 6

Walcott - 5

Vela - ?? I believe he touched the ball once then fell to the ground.

What a shocking performance, even if we were under strength tonight because of injuries.

We scored an away goal and restricted the opposition to a bunch of pretty speculative long shots...except for one man's shocking ineptitude between the sticks we draw tonight at least.

Does it really matter which incompetent s**t is between the sticks these days? 2/10

Sagna 6 - Defended well
Campbell 8 - Poor man, he doesn't deserve this.
Verm 6 - Not one of his better games
Clichy 5 - Raped for the first goal. 07/08 was a fluke, people.

Denilson 6 - Our best midfielder in the 2nd half.
Diaby 6 - Lost his head towards the end
Cesc 4.5 - Bullied, outmuscled, whined etc. Arsenal captaincy is a joke.

Rosicky 6 - Should have had a pen, set up Campbell's goal.
Bendtner 5 - Humility goes a long way.
Nasri 5 - Lost his head after the 2nd goal.

SUBS

Theo! Theo! Theo! 5 - Actually looked like a footballer when he went to the left.
Vela 4 - Of all the cowardly midgets at Arsenal, he has to be the most cowardly of them all.
Eboue 6 - Why doesn't he start?

On a serious note though I know people are nostalgic about Sol's return and he scored a vital away goal but why are people ignoring Sol's dual lapses for the second goal?

Fabianski - 4 - a conceded goal from a keeper's mistakes in a game is alarmingly bad enough, and Fab made two farcical ones.

Sagna - 6

Sol - 6

Vermaelen - 5

Clichy - 5

Denilson - 5 - couldn't hold the midfield, couldn't contribute in attack

Cesc - 5 - very indecisive at times

Diaby - 6 - worked very hard and should've taken few more shots. They didn't have to be like canons but at least he could've tried to bend the ball a bit considering the wide angle he's facing

Rosicky - 5 - ineffective and looked very upset after the goal farce

Nasri - 5

Bendter - 5 - looked like a OAP rather than a guy in his early 20s. This B-52 was completely dominated by that outstanding Fernando.

Walcot - 5 - should've been Eboue coming up

Eboue - 6 - should've come up earlier for Rosicky

Vela - n/a - obviously a tactical move to replace Bendtner, without weaken the defense in the last dying 10 mins in the first leg.

Wenger - n/a - wtf he's being upset? The seed has been sowed given what he did in the January

Porto were poor.

To concede even one to that team was poor. And to not score more than 1 was fairly poor as well.
