We could have bought Johnny Evans, a good, experienced premier league defender. But no, he apparently wasn't good enough for Arsenal and he went off very cheaply to Leicester, where he is currently playing much better than any of the flops Arsenal ended up buying.

Tbf I don’t know if he’d do that much better than Sokratis or David Luiz.

We’re such a shambles unless you’re Virgil or Koulibaly you’d struggle here.

Try hard to hold on to their better players, don't rest on their laurels when they cannot, such an all round elite attitude toward progression and not stagnation a la us.

So many clubs like Villa ignore the lower leagues.

Players are more experienced with English football there and they have room to develop and get sold for massive profit.

Look at the likes of Maguire and Stones.

Vardy isn’t complete at all, and Firmino / Aguero are both better players.

He’s still elite at what he does though, and is a better player than either Lacazette or Aubameyang. Was calling for us to sign him before Leicester even won the league.

I think your underrating vardy alot. Bearing in mind firminho and aguero both play for top teams with top top players. On current form vardy is well ahead of both those players.

League is very weak
There is taking a punt from the lower leagues, and then there is trying to sign players considered big talents.

Maddison, Grealish were the latter.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
