I believe Wenger has a list of players for every position, and from then on he doesn't need to be involved. I also believe the players we got in weren't his first choice at all.

Gazidis: "Hello Arsenal Football Club"...

Wenger: "Iv, hello, it's Arsène"

Gazidis: "Arsène...Hiiiiiiii"

Wenger: "Hows things, good?"

Gazidis: "Yeah all good, bit busy"

Wenger: "Good, so....where are ve?"

Gazidis: "We've just signed Benayoun"
