Hope the lad has a storming season.
Get used to it.The amount of people on social media absolutely rimming Arteta for the decision not to include him after he has had a tricky first 45 minutes.

He looked alright tbh, like said earlier, the goals had nothing to do with him. Very messy game actually.
I’m beyond puzzled why he couldn’t get into our team really.
If all he looks is "alright" for a mid table Ligue 1 team then surely he has done nothing to justify being guaranteed playing time for a 20 year old?
Makes you wonder why you would spend 72m on any player who has isn’t established. Not at fault for either though.
Particularly the second. An undercut back pass. It really is a farmer's league at times

Cause that was the market. We almost paid more for Lemar under Wenger luckily he turned us down.Makes you wonder why you would spend 72m on any player who has isn’t established.
I was absolutely livid at these rumours. At least there was a small justification of Pepe perhaps being an elite level talent based on his time at Lille. Lemar was good but clearly had holes in his game and a ceiling.Cause that was the market. We almost paid more for Lemar under Wenger luckily he turned us down.
Look at what City and Utd has spent buying Monaco players etc.
Think people make a big deal out of transfer fees tbh. Handful of CL appearances doesn't mean much too.I was absolutely livid at these rumours. I remember being of the opinion that we just sell Alexis for the £60m being quoted and being done with it, even if we couldnt get a quality replacement in.
I agree with maybe Martial, but City bought players who performed in the CL (i.e. Bernardo, Mendy).
I don't know man, its about opportunity cost. We could have probably signed Grealish + Ziyech for the same price we signed Pepe. The modern day is all about who uses their revenue and resources most efficiently. Compare us to the likes of Leciester and Liverpool and its quite damning.Think people make a big deal out of transfer fees tbh. Handful of CL appearances doesn't mean much too.
Hopefully we don't spend big going forward seeing the success of Saka and Martinelli, even Mari functioning well. Just not worth the complaints (Xhaka, Mustafi, Lacazette, Pepe).
If it were that easy, Grealish wouldn't still be at Villa in his mid twenties. All these teams shop in the same markets.I don't know man, its about opportunity cost. I don't really have an issue with most of the transfer fees you mentioned. Its just that the Pepe deal was defo sus transfer fee wise. In another world he goes for £45m. Mustafi was a poor scouting job but 35m wasn't terribly extortionate at the time, looks horrendous now though of course.
Such a liar, our greasy mik.Arteta - ‘I want to protect Saliba and his future with us’

Anybody posted this yet? Seems he's in Arteta's long term plans.
What else was Arteta going to say? Either way he has to protect the value of the clubs asset whether we keep or sell him.
