Being reported by a few reputable sources apparently. We've contacted his management company and want to offer him a starting place in midfield.

It also says Arsenal was his dreamclub as a kid.

And yeah, starting place as a central midfielder, rather than being used as a Left Back.

Don't know him too well though. How good is he?

Why would it be if we offer him something Bayern won't (his favourite starting position)?

great talented player sadly he won't leave a team who just won the treble.

.. Why would he leave? He's already starting for Bayern. Very strange rumor.

He's made some noise recently again that he wants to play in CM. Understandable somewhat since his overall ability would be further emphasised centrally, on the other hand he's already a very good left back, which is a rare thing these days.

Bullshit rumour though.

There is a reason he is playing at LB instead of CM.

The fact that there are very few great LBs around?

He's been great every time I've seen him centrally, although that's not exactly often. Just a quality talent.

They need a natural LB? Send them Santos, take Alaba who is midfield player and everyone should be happy!
If they need natural forwards we have few of those as well ;)

This sounds like total BS, but signing Alaba would be massive. I doubt that Bayern would let him leave since he's a quality LB. However, if he did leave I'm sure they could find an adequate replacement.

I've never seen him play CM, but the kid has obvious quality, and he's definitely not going be playing CM for Bayern anytime soon. He's behind Schweinsteiger, Martinez and Luis Gustavo.

I'd assume he could play DM since he's a solid defender, but offensively he's quite good since he used to also play LW, yet the best part could be his future partnership with Gibbs. With Santi at LW he roams all over the field and Gibbs is pushed up quite far offensively, so having Alaba as cover could really free up Gibbs in the offensive third without disrupting our defensive stability.

He is also at the right age with the right experience to form part of the youthful core that Wenger is building for the team.

Again, I think this rumor is a bit of a stretch, but Alaba is the right type of player we should be going after.

Agreed, watched him for Austria vs. Ireland and he impressed greatly, even scoring an equaliser in the last minute.

Besides the fact that we already have a pretty good situation at LB, he's playing at potentially the best club in the world. I'm fairly confident this is a joke at best. He'd cost close to 30m to sign in a position we don't need.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
