Youngsters On Loan Watch

Mika Biereth scored an absolutely class goal for Motherwell

He’s flown under the radar over the last season but wonder if he may get a chance now that Balogun will be going. He’s a different type of striker to most of our others.

League One Club Cheltenham Town, sign Arsenal forward Nathan Butler - Oyedeji , on a season long loan.
Cheltenham, currently bottom of League One, have yet to score a goal in the league this season.
Good Luck Nathan.

Is someone like Mika Biereth not worth a shot in the first team as a striker at this stage? Considering we have basically nothing there other than Nketiah if Jesus gets injured.

What is the point of constantly sending him out on loan? He had a decent spell at Motherwell. He has some decent attributes and could potentially thrive in this team.

Arteta is genuinely such a horrid manager when it comes to giving young players a chance. He’d have a young Harry Kane playing in the reserves for the sake of it.

Hope our promising young players all just move on as soon as they can, there is basically no point whilst Lego is in charge.

Tbf 20 year old Harry Kane played at Norwich or Leicester.

It must be said that Biereth has had to deal with a ton of injuries since his 1st loan to Holland last year. This is his first proper run of first team football. I don't think there's a big problem with letting him cook for a bit on loan.

Biereth is not ready to play a role for Arsenal.
He had his debut for Sturm Graz (my local team) yesterday in the quarter finals of the Austrian Cup, where he scored the second goal in Sturm's 2:0 win against Austria Wien. He was very decent all around, but the step up from the Austrian Bundesliga to the Premier League is a big one.

As a comparison, a really good comparison funnily, as he also had his breakthrough at Sturm Graz: Rasmus Hojlund is only 4 days older than Biereth. He had his debut for Sturm 2 years ago, where he scored 2 goals. From there on he pretty much dominated Austrian football for 1/2 season, had another very decent season in Italy and now still looks raw and not (yet!) at the required level at United.

I hope Biereth can have a similar impact to Hojlund at Sturm, but even then, he will still have some way to go.

Kept reading conference league this morning g and thinking why the **** have we sent Biereth to go and play in the conference.

Only just clocked it was the European tournament no one cares about

That proves my point tbh. It would have been quite easy for Sp**s to just sell him at that point. Sherwood saw something in him even when he wasn’t pulling up trees on his loan spells to give him a chance.

I sort of see something similar with Biereth. He doesn’t look a standout player but his movement, hold up play and finishing is really top notch which can translate at a much higher level. Much more than someone like Nketiah who is more limited in skillset.

Was watching this. Exciting forward but not ready IMO. I like his mentality in the final 3rd though and he does have a decent all-round game with a bit of pace and power. I can see Arteta liking him as he's got great attributes for a modern CF but it's also just as likely someone slaps somewhere between £10m-20m on the table and we take it.

Ideally, he goes on another loan - to a stronger league this time.

Told he was the Danish Haaland @MutableEarth
Dunno if he's quite as good a finisher but he isn't far off and he's got a real nose for opportunities when he's in those areas. If he can learn to time his movement well and build on his finishing repertoire, he's gonna be one hell of a dangerous striker. Really impressed by him, but you can tell he's raw for competitive football. These Conference games are a great little spot for him right now. Just need to see how he does in a competitive league, regardless of the quality level of the team. He also needs to stay fit as he's had injury troubles the last season and a half.

Arsenal Quotes

Thierry Henry was very quick at analysing everything that was going on and how he needed to react. This intelligence, this capacity to evaluate, understand and question oneself, is also the mark of great players... For everyone, for the fans and for us, he symbolised the golden age of Arsenal.
