Patrick, vela is far from the finished article, i agree. But he won't ever be without getting games, and logically speaking, he would have to have been playing worse than Bendtner in order to not be playing ahead of him - which clearly he is not.

I'm not the biggest fan of shots from that angle, the reason is that its so difficult to score from there obviously, and the most efficient thing to do is square it for your team-mate.

Not if your team mate is Nik Bendtner.

Which is exactly why you're more likely to score from them if you're able to get your angles right- its the last thing the keeper is expecting.. and as Qs rightly said, the wide open Bendtner was his only other option.

On the Bendtner issue, who else thinks Wenger left him on for so long to prove a point.. I honestly felt Wenger was trying to let him 'show himself' as we say down here, and he didn't disappoint. Maybe he'll be a little bit humbler now and knuckle down and work harder at improving himself during training sessions. I know i would.

Also wondering if Fabianski and Gibbs?? and the rest of the lads on the bench gave him as much stick as he deserved when Wenger finally came to his rescue and took him off. He looked thoroughly embarassed. lol.

Apart from Arshavin's and Song's excellent performances, today it was clear how much we missed Theo Walcott, almost all dangerous actions came from the right-wing. That turn, when he held the ball and eliminated 3 players in the last 20 minutes of the game, was a magnific action.

Yeah, your right, but whenevr Carlos is on the pitch, something gets created, there is always a more then likely chance with the ball under control by Vela, that he'd make something happen.

I'd love to look into the future, say around the 2012 squad, and see what our starting line up is.

Some issues here I must agree/disagree on.

1) Yes, I honestly don't remember the last time we played well. We played really well today.

2) As for Arshavin, I maintain he is the best, or maybe second or third best player in the world and the best signing we could make.

3) Who the hell are you who think Eboue has made up for two years of crap play, diving, acting like a baby and getting sent off at Sp**s. He's scored three late goals, I'm sure he thinks he has a right to go on a spree of sh*t again and ruin games for our team again.

Held the ball Proof***

Yeah I agree, Walcott created a hell of a lot of chances for us. So we had a bad day in front of goal ( scoring only four ), which when I re-watched it seem like a completly under rated scorline given the amout of clear cut oportunities we had. Arshavin was a master class, and Theo was deadly.

Now for little old Cesc to return to this great burning ball of a midfield and we'd be back to a great level. Good to see an entertaining game, im sure the players and the fans enjoyed it.

Blackburn conceded midweek against Fulham in the 2nd minute and today they conceded in the 2nd minute again ouch.
Great performance aside I think we played Blackburn at the right time they seem very shaky in defence with quite a few key injuries if they had Santa Cruz they might of scored one while we kept wasting a couple of chances until Arshavin got the 2nd, the key was obviously the early goal otherwise it could of been another 0-0.

think Eboue (and no one wants to admit it) has been probably our most consitently good player this month (and I'm not saying this because of his goals) but player of the month will prob go to VP again (for no reason) or Eduardo (for a great goal)

No - I already said that before we signed him.

Arsenal Quotes

When I arrive at the gates of Heaven the Good Lord will ask "What did you do in your life?"
I will respond "I tried to win football matches."
He will say: "Are you certain that's all?"
"Well, that's the story of my life. It is not easy to win football matches, you know."
