Keepers make mistakes even quality once like De Gea but sometimes you cant make these simple mistakes you under no pressure why holding the ball?

Lenos shot stopping is second to none. However every other part of his game is poor. Makes mistakes. 1 minute on the clock that ball is at your feet you clear it as far up the pitch as possible. That is a basic thing. You have the result waste the time put it out of play in their half for a throw in job done. Poor.

World class in shot stopping and coming out for through balls. Very very poor in everything else. Good enough for this team for now. If we really rebuild successfully, then we can think of replacing him with someone like Allisson.

Suits us the way we are now, he gets peppered and he’s active and he’s great then. It was a long match when you think about it, that and his (and others) tendency to have a brain fart was always on the cards. It happens.

He cost us a corner. That is around 1/20th of a goal. Only ~2% of corners result in a goal. A bit harsh to blame him for this.

Especially when he saves us multiple times every damn game. I like how nobody is moaning at Xhaka. 1 min to go and you are playing a back pass to our keeper on his left foot. If that goes to his right he just passes out to the right hand side. Stupid decisions as always.

This, shocking nobody mentioned that. If Leno only needed to hoof the ball, why didn't Xhaka do the exact same thing 3 seconds before? There will always be a chance that the keeper will miss control the ball and it's 118 minute.
Leno will be a fine keeper for us once we clear out Xhaka and CB's.

Leno is the least of our problems but if someone were to come in with big money then you probs sell, if you can get more for a player than his worth then it can seriously help with the rebuild, assuming we spend the money wisely ofcourse

No when you have the ball passed to you with 1 minute on the clock you punt the ball long as far away from your goal as possible. That is common sense you dont ***** foot and play around with the ball at the back when the other team is pressing you and putting you under pressure.

Leno has saved us many times when it comes to shot stopping but at the end of the day he is a goalkeeper and that is what he is paid for. That's the bare minimum requirement.

When it comes to making decisions like commanding his box, organising his defence at set pieces and anything else that required abit of thought he is bang average.

He cost us against Chelsea. His mistake against Everton almost cost us and his mistake last night will have a lasting effect on where we go next season.

The margins in football are very fine and that is the difference between improving and moving up and regressing.

Most of those goalkeepers were signed as number 2s or squad players not number ones.

The players that you mentioned were better than Leno were probably all the keepers genuinely signed to be number 1s or at least be genuine challengers for the spot.
