With all due respect we should win...
They are a quality defensive team...but have problems scoring...
The most I see them scoring against us is 2 and maybe 3...and the minimum i can see us scoring is 2...so...
We should win as long as the team does no get over confident

They are a quality side.. in fact tthey have played very much like we have in this years CL.. taking few risks..trying to keep the ball and getting the most out of their possession on the break.
Forlan wil also be the most mobile forward we will play against considering Ronaldo is overweight, Raul is past it, Ibrahimovic couldnt be bothered and Trez is piss poor without service.
We will have to be careful and especially we must not give them an away goal. A 0-0 at HIghbury even that wouldnt be too bad.

just get gilberto to manmark riquelme

I agree, Gilberto should stick to him like glue.

We have to play villareal the way we played madrid. A bit cautious but always looking to score. Villareal play at a slower pace, but can change a game with one play (usually constructed by riquelme). We should apply alot of pressure and not allow riquelme any space. If we play this way, well have no problem beating them. We are a much deeper squad with alot more weapons. Riquelme is their main threat, and he MUST be contained.

We won't underestimate them. Wenger's never got this far. Do you think he will leave any stone unturned? He'll get the preparation right but it'll just be down to small details and luck. And let's face it , we deserve a bit of that.

Please don't praise our team yet.

We still need to overcome Villareal to go to Paris.

We still need to work hard although on paper, we can beat them.

no game is easy in the champions league, you just have to take every match as it comes. both teams will be up for it but im sure wenger will make us more than prepared. but before making any predictions lets see how we perform for the next 2 weeks leading up to the first leg. its important that we stay on form.

There is no way we can underestimate them.
Anybody who gets to the Semi final of the Champions can't.
I would have to say like everybody says their most dangerous and most technically gifted player is Riquelme and Forlan despite his barren spell with United is a big threat upfront now with Villarrael instead.
Other than that I know they are a very hard working team.

Too bad we can't have Reyes for 1st leg.
His speed dan dribbling pace can be very effective
to exploit any hole in Villareal defence.

But I believe we have big chance to progress. :D

We can use Rvp then :)

spirit and focus are the key to paris.

villarreal will be without vi era, their goalie! and we are only without reyes but may welcome a.cole back.

we have a good chance of beating them at highbury by 3 or 4 goals. if so, we can focus on home game vs Sp**s.

maybe we will play 4-4-2 for some time if v.persie regain his good form in the following weeks.

Some fans are confident we'll win them. We've got to be careful, they are a good side. Forlan was a flop with United, but he's doing really good there and getting in important goals.
The reason Villareal are not that high the Spanish league is because they've had many key players out at the start of the season.

Riquelme is one to watch. He's really really good on the free-kicks .. whether their shots or crosses.

They play very attractive football too. It's going to be some game.

Our biggest enemy here will be over confidence.

Spot on there.

Looking at how arrogent our fans have become I do fear for our team right now that they don't do the same. We have to keep our focus and approach this match like we did against Madrid and Juve or our dreams of a final will remain a dream. They are a real banana skin for us and people are underestimating them, ANYTHING can happen in a one off match.

Once again a certain player will have to rise above all to get us through, he has got us this far with his goals and determination but he will have to make sure his 2nd semi final doesn't end up like his first did. He will have to once again show his greatness and lead get us through this match, all our hopes are pinned on him and he hasn't let us down so far. Lets hope he doesn't now!

would have preferd inter, but all in all reaching fourth spot in the league is more vital than knocking out villareal i'd say ..

I would have preferred Inter myself. Even though they are 3rd in Serie-A, they are not a very difficult team. They've got alot of problems at the back and let goals in easily. Adriano is very inconsistent too and isn't particularly playing at his best.

Villareal are trickier opponents, thats for sure.

Not sure why so many of you are wishing we meet Inter?

We're already there. Villareal are meeting us there. We should just enjoy the moment and hope that our boys can play well like they did in the last 2 rounds.

Besides, do we really want to meet Adriano, Martins, Stankovic & Figo? Yes, Inter seems weak also but can we really expect tol have an easy time with them as well?
