Misses Granit Xhaka and Jesus something fierce.

Yep, I do think he's been relatively poor for much of the season but it has to be noted how isolated he is.

Zinchenko inverting or a make shift LB in Kiwi who understandably doesn't want to push on too much in support and Havertz who doesn't have great link up play.

With Jorginho he sees the pass and he plays it early.

He was crap against Porto admittedly but it didn't help that he was getting slow ball and half (of the few) passes that made it to him were 5 yards behind him.

Quick ball, in front of him and let him commit men with his direct style of play.

If we know this then he and Arteta know this, too.

This will be understood in context and there will be many conversations behind the scenes about what can be reasonably expected of him given his skillset.

He’s only isolated in games where he’s asked to hold the width.

Recent games he’s increasingly given freedom to come inside and combine / make chaos and he’s re-discovering the joy of football.

Havertz assist last game was from Martinelli on the right side of the box, he’s definitely roaming around more imo - which also makes us more dangerous and harder to defend.

Despite not being consistently as good he was last season, Martinelli should be in line to be the PFA team of the season at LW at present.

For me the LW position doesn't have the quality of competition for the spot as the RW (Salah, Saka and Folden).

Martinelli has been better than Doku, Diaz (both overrated), Rashford (having disappointing season after last) and McGinn/ Ramsey.

Only Paqueta (missed numerous games through injury) and Jota (sub impact player who is better than Diaz) are giving Martinelli competition for the LW spot present.

Knowing the media though they squeeze in some who like Saka, Folden and Son into the PFA spot.

I've never been a goalscorer. I've only owned goals. Good own goals.
