He's like the opposite of Wenger in that regard. Wenger never cared for the opposition.
Wenger's big thing was focusing on your strengths. It was a double edged sword at times.

What's interesting is that when Wenger actually did some proper recon and set up accordingly he actually did well. Which makes it more annoying that he didn't do it a bit more. Emery is clearly complete opposite.

Yeah, I was watching a documentary about Pep and why he insisted they play only in a certain way like Wenger did. Something about reinforcing in everyones minds that this is the only way to play, and not leave any room for confusion about the responsibilities. We're seeing with Emery why that strategy was good.

Think Torreira and Doozy are nailed on starters for this. Last spot is a difficult one. I’d love to see Özil but him even just being on the bench for a PL game is a big step up this season.

Think Emery would rather go with Ceballos/Willock because they’re more ‘industrious’ without the ball.

Would have huge respect for them both if Emery started Xhaka after he said he wasn't going to play. Would be top trolling.

CL run in 2006 was a defensive master class, we didn’t concede a goal in the knockouts until the final.

Also he’s shown some top game planning in some away games in the back end of his time here. Couple of away performances at City and Chelsea in 2015 were really well organised.

When we lost to Sp**s in 2013 and Villas Boas spoke about the "negative spiral", Arsène was like "f**k this" ...and we went on a mad run at the end of that season, finishing ahead of Sp**s...we dropped Verm and the Kos/Per combo really kicked in, Ramsey became an amazing box-to-box mid which carried on and improved the next season, Santi and Rozza were amazing...we barely let in any goals during that run in, it was incredible...it's not as famous (or as impressive tbf) as the 2006 Champions League, but it's another good example.

Not confident about this one, Wolves will be excited to play us after how garbage we have been but hopefully new month, new captain on the field leads to new results - WINS! Lol. Really hoping Özil starts and shows why he needs to be back in the team, he really was brilliant against Liverpool midweek.

Be pretty decent if Xhaka was exiled for a few game and we started a decent run of form with Özil in as well. Won’t happen but sometimes you gotta be positive.
What happened to xhakas parental leave? Was that just rumour?

If he plays it will be controversial and if he doesn't play it will be controversial... unless he goes on leave.

It seems like a very good time to take it.

I'm beginning to appreciate Wenger's rigidness on forcing his players playing the way he wants it. It's better than having decent players playing cluelessly because of ever-changing tactics.

I actually think that's exactly what will happen. Then Emery will try to sneak Xhaka back in and we'll start playing mediocre again and he will keep playing him until we're back here again.

Xhaka will first feature back vs Vittoria, I'm sure of it.

vs Wolves we will be 2-0 up by half time, pegged back to 2-1 early on in the 2nd and go on to grind a 3-1, Emeryin again, again.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal are the most beautiful club in England. At Man City and Chelsea, they will never have that class and style.
