Almunia - 8 (Hot form)

Eboue - 6 (Put pressure on us with some bad passing, but otherwise fine)
Silvestre - 5.5 (Shaky, but was there)
Gallas - 7 (Ok, but great at the end when we needed him)
Clichy - 5.5 (Loads of wasted passes in the 1st, ok in the 2nd)

Walcott - 7 (Our best chances in the 1st were all him)
Song - 6 (Physical presence, won some good balls, though missing at times)
Fabregas - 5 (Probing, but a lot of wasteful passes, and couldn't really deal with the physicality)
Nasri - 5 (Same as Cesc, though less probing, less wasteful)

RvP - 6.5 (Not a good 1st, but some very good efforts on goal)
Bendtner - 7 (Great once Ade was on the pitch)

Subs -
Adebayor - 8 (Match winner)
Diaby - 6.5 (Not much, but got involved and played well)

im sorry, but anyone scoring fabregas higher than song today clearly wasnt watching closely enough. finally we have some midfield presence (quite possibly the most presence weve had centrally this season so far in a 4-4-2), someone breaking up posession, and he gets a 6? come on.

I wasnt convinced by Song tbh. Not saying that he was bad or anything, (I dont think Fabregas was that much better) but not extraordinary.

I thought Song was exceptional today. Deserves at least a 7.

Song is impressive in the aspect that he shows a lot of promise in midfield. He gets a 6 from me because he's still very rough and makes too many mistakes. No doubt that he had a lot of positives in today's game, though.

Song was sloppy in the first half but really came into it in the second, was strong and tidy in the middle for us

even marks i can understand for them, because fab did his share of defensive work. and song did venture too far forward in the early stages of the game. but from around the 35 minute mark or so he was very solid. broke up more than his share of posession and kept the ball moving forward. he added a presence that this team has had to resort to 5 men midfields to achieve.

Almunia - 8 - Some brilliant saves.

Eboue - 6
Sil - 5
Gallas - 7 - Best game this season.
Clichy - 6

Walcott - 6
Song - 6 - Actually did a bit of defensive work unlike Denilson.
Fabregas - 7
Nasri - 4 - Shocking.

Van Persie - 6.5 - Did more in last 20mins on RW than he did the first 70.

Bendnter - 8 Great passing, movement and assist.

Subs -

Adebayor - 8 - Perhaps the best way to play him is as a sub. He stayed central, onside and worked well off Bendther on the left and RVP on the right.

Diaby - 5

it's been a while I've seen an Arsenal game but Almunia seems to be doing really well, yes?

That's a really poor idea. We were struggling from the beginning _because_ we missed him on the field.

Had he started he may have returned to his usual ways of drifting to the left or constantly going offside. Leaving the attack with no focal point. He came on today and stayed central. Whenever the team had the ball he was available for passes in the box. Had brilliant exchanges with Nick & RVP.

yea, you cant ignore his form, he's been excellent.

almunia - 9 - great save, good distribution
eboue - 7 - he's cut the theatrics, i'm starting to like him again. some bad decisions, otherwise i'd have given an 8
gallas - 8 - saw the fire today, no problems with him as captain if this is how he plays the rest of the way
silvestre - 7
clichy - 7
walcott - 7 - love him out wide
fabregas - 7 - good to see him defending again
song - 7 - should play a bit deeper but his tackling is far better than denilson's - i'd like to see song keep his place
nasri - 5.5 - he'll get used to the pace
van persie - 5 - still drops too deep, holds the ball too long, is easily dispossessed, ignored eboue on the overlap a few times when we needed the width. looks like he's back to himself on freekicks though.
bendtner - 8 - i love intelligence
adebayor - 8
diaby - 7

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the title on May 3-rd by beating Everton 4-0 as Tony Adams scored that iconic goal, we showed everyone and especially Manchester United that we could beat them. Thirteen days later, when we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final in the legendary Wembley Stadium, it was wonderful... I felt immensely proud for the team, for the club: this was the fantastic response I was able to give to those who had put their confidence in me, as well as those who had put me through all those difficult weeks when I first arrived.
