Emery Gone, Telly Back On
Some of you are overrating current squad. It clouds your judgement.

It's down to the success on the market from by the people who are responsible for recruiting. Can't remember a single season where Wenger was given 4 players that are ready for the first team football without losing a single key player.
People forgot quickly how good we were for the majority of Wenger's career here, they remember only his last 2 seasons. I'll be happy if Emery achives 80% of the things Wenger did

I gave him 8
We have 38 pts, no idea what we had at this point last season but 38 is more than half of 63 pts, which is how we finished last season. Taking into the account the squad he has, I have to be happy with how he has done. New to the league, learning the language and we've lost 3 out of 19 (same as City & Chelsea) and we smashed our EL group with ease. We've played some great football and got the fans singing again. Sure we can improve and I'm sure Emery will ensure we do.
Other than Fullham, Liverpool, Sp**s and maybe Leicester we've been bang on mediocre. Can't think of any other games where we dominated most of the game.
Think the unbeaten run, while great/amazing, papered over the cracks of how close/lucky we were in some matches (which is a positive for Emery, since some of those we would've lost under Arséne).
I agree in terms of performances but I look at the points and position and have to conclude we're doing as well if not better than I could have hoped for. The fact there is so much room for improvement and we're still 5th with 38pts has to be a positive.
Some players improved, some don't, but you can't find a good balance with a half decent team. Lack of width, squad depth at CM and poor defending players are killing us. Team balance is the main key for winning.

I could be wrong, but is there any good examples of squads being totally overhauled in one summer to great effect? Sp**s tried to do it when Bale left, and they were left reeling for several seasons after that. It’s just not a feasible approach to sustained success IMO.@American_Gooner Why do we need to wait 3 or 4 years? Why couldn’t Emery use the summer to drastically change the squad into his perception of what it should be?
I used that time period to compare line-ups because I was comparing him to Pochettino and Klopp, and that's how long they've been at their clubs.@American_Gooner Why do we need to wait 3 or 4 years?
