Outstanding performance. West Brom are basically a Championship team and you want to duplicate this against better teams, but that was the best the team has looked in ages.

What a bizarre season that things could go so terribly but the standings could still be so tightly packed and we could be so close to Europe.

- the team and the season changed the instant that ESR was put in the 10 position, and hopefully it's years before anyone else is there on a regular basis. It's a shame it didn't happen sooner but credit to Arteta for getting it right eventually. Everything he does is done with pace and intent and intelligence.

- might as well just give Tierney the armband now because he's the real captain of this team. What a player, what a goal, what an effort tonight.

- Saka continues to be absolutely outstanding and could have created 3 or 4 goals tonight with a bit of luck.

- Lacazette has been excellent since the start of December. Had several games where he didn't get results and the team was horrible but he was the only veteran guy really busting his ass and trying to make things happen. Happy for him he's being rewarded with this flood of goals now.

- Holding-Mari partnership : 1 GA in 3 games. Solid again tonight in tricky conditions.

- Bellerin did a lot of good things and was having one of his better games before being taken off due to his yellow.

- Auba is the one big negative. Play stinks, body language stinks. Early play where he pulled up rather than chase a perfect cross because a keeper was moving toward him was very concerning. Martinelli would have offered more and Arsenal's best 11 doesn't include him at this point.

- sell Willock, even if you only get 5 million from a Championship team. Minutes are just being wasted there that could be given to other players. Simply not good enough.

- Xhaka-Ceballos partnership was ... ok. Very little of what happened offensively moved through them.

- Leno covered his area well although he had little to do.

Tierney-we wanted to build up points and wins and get up the table. A bit of cold weather hurts nobody! He says tonight is progression and that its been hard work a no changes in thd last few games that have made the difference.
Tierney just said "It's just a bit of cold weather" wearing shorts and a tee while Saka wearing a jacket shivering "It's so cold"

Its an old Scottish tactic dating back thousands of years and why they wore kilts. They used to use their legs to distract defenders while they murdered them. Tierney has clearly adopted such an approach today when murdering the entire West Brom defence.

Why? A 15-20 min cameo isn’t worse than an ordinary training session when it comes to exhausting your body. It’s probably better as the intensity is higher. Point being that if you’re played for 66 mins a couple of days earlier you don’t need to be rested those extra 15-20mins.
There was no reason to play him. He is still recovering from injury. Makes absolutely no sense.

Bellerin was making Bellerin mistakes.

AMN is a calming presence in RB. The game was over after the sub, because no more attacks could come at our right.

There wasn't much coming at us anywhere from West Brom before the substitution, either.

I'm the furthest thing from a Bellerin fan and generally prefer AMN, but Bellerin was very good today. Ran hard, recovered possession multiple times, was nicely involved in several offensive buildups. There has been a lot to criticize there this season but not in today's game.

ESR is quite good. His intelligence, movement and quick thinking does a lot in creating opportunities for his team mates. I'm happy he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Just wish Balogun would get a similar run. I feel like he is a hidden gem that we are just going to throw away without testing first. Giving me Gnabry vibes.

Balogun is quality and definitely get ahead of Eddi. He's strong, fast, can dribble...

Player:Martinelli
Only a few negatives:

- Willian is horrific and can't do anything right it seems. Even the commentator was saying that one shot he had was only his SECOND shot on target this season LOL pathetic!

- I just don't see Willock making it here - the kid comes across lazy to me

- Auba is having a stinker of a season, he went from our most consistent player to being a player who looks so lazy and uninterested as soon as something doesn't go his way. Almost looks like him and Laca switched minds lol

ANYWAYS...

We beat a relegation team convincingly which hasn't really happened in a while and we are closer to the top of the table. Let's keep ti going and long may this winning streak continue with Saka, ESR, Tierney, Laca & Martinelli tearing it up! Add to that: Gabriel, Partey, Leno and just get me a beast of a CB to partner Gabriel and one who can rotate with Holding and we are coming alive again! THANK GOD!

Arsenal Quotes

Arsène Wenger's idea is not only to play good football. It's to play good football to win. In my day, we knew that with our style we could hurt teams and win trophies too. But we did it our way, with the positional game, passing, movement.
