25m for a seasoned German International with 40 odd caps is a good deal on paper. He was very good last season as well by all accounts. Seems we will be bringing either this lad or Buendia in. Whoever comes in hopefully they can improve the team.

I’ve only seen him play as a winger if he plays cm can he defends and tackle? It’s must in the modern cm even an attacking mid has to track runners and put a shift in

Why would Norwich loan their best player when chasing a promotion worth hundreds of millions?
And thus, in my opinion, why Brandt it'll probably be. Especially since there's a price tag on his head and Norwich already said Buendia isn't going anywhere.

If we're planning to use Brandt as a CM pivot next to Partey, I'd look to either cancel the Ceballos loan or shift Elneny to Besiktas, spots are there to be had. I don't think either players have a future here if we want to push back into continental spots.
Hopefully Elneny goes out. Ceballos at least passes the ball forward, even if he gives it a way from time to time.

Is 25m not a bargain for this guy? And thats in euros. Has anyone here watched him...

I thought he was a very promising player.

I honestly don't rate either, but it seems Mikel prefers Elneny as he was paired next to Partey at the start of the season. I would agree though, I'd prefer Elneny off first as he's got 18 months left. Anything to not see Ceballos and Elneny paired in central midfield again though, you do it.

As a winger I thought he was promising and in the last World Cup looked good coming on fast and direct never seen him as a cm but I have doubts that he could be a cm in the prem

Admittedly I haven`t seen too much of him but Brandt seems like a signing that could go either way. Obviously very talented as 40 games for Germany is proof of but has struggled at times at Dortmund and apparently not the strongest mentally. A gamble ( every signing is to be fair) and not the type of signing we should make at the moment. Bring in Buendia if possbible or loan someone and evaluate in the summer.

No clue if he's any good, but what I'm reading about him is not encouraging tbh..

Actually, that's a good development. If Bayern don't want him and we do then this is our chance.

25m euros is a no brainer for this guy. In an ideal world, we get both him and another playmaker(Buendia maybe?) But hey - this is arsenal.

We are levels behind Bayern they only want ready made players tho.
I think what is more telling is they aren't talking about quality alone.

They are also talking about the player's mentality, claiming he doesn't have what it takes to join Bayern. This is why I have so much respect for the club in a professional sense, they really try to build a team full of c*nts... which helps you win things.

Would someone like Brandt rise to whatever occasion that is put front of him? Is he clutch like a Ronaldo, Saka, Vardy? I think he is more of an Özil, Pepe, Auba etc who goes hiding in the tough physical games. We need to start screening the mentality of the players we sign just as much as their quality, they don't all need to be tough ****ers but we certainly need some. And if we want to start a rebuild we need some tough characters in the dressing room.

I was having a look on reddit today and people who watch bundesliga say he is way too inconsistent, they don't see him as someone who will still have a good game in tough matches. People can disagree with me all they want but I got sick of that with Özil even before his final contract was signed. Lets sign some strong resiliant players, we can at least say with Buendia that he is PL proven and he is Argentinian so he's a tough bastard too despite his flair.

Saka is clutch? He is a bloody kid ffs and bringing up in same sentence as Ronaldo. I almost prefer when we were on losing run

For Saka's age he is clutch, he drives the team forward with his performances alone and hes only a kid. Stop acting like I'm saying Saka is on Ronaldo's level or is ever going to be on his level, I'm just pointing out players who don't shy away from challenges. Saka has been our most consistent player for a year now, thats an achievement for a kid in this terrible predicament we are in. I even made sure to vary the quality of the players I listed to prevent a simple drone like you commenting about it and you still fell for the trap.

I'm not surprised, you're one of the most moodiest ***** on the forum anyway.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
