Morata staying at Real is huge for us. Seems like the deal will go through though tbh.

Nice things never happen to us.

Arsenal won't pay those big wages though. There's not really much attractive about us right now, out of the UCL, don't compete for the top trophies and we don't play great football anymore either.

Arsenal has the 7th highest payroll of any club in the world. Only Barcelona, Real Madrid, the two Manchester clubs, Chelsea and (barely) PSG had higher payrolls this past season. Arsenal's payroll was more than Bayern and ahead of Juventus by £55 million. More than double the payroll of AC Milan, Inter, Roma or Dortmund.

80m bid rejected by Real Madrid for Morata. Just shows how crazy football is going that Madrid can reject that type of bid. More worryingly United likely to increase the bid and pay for Mbappe in the process.
Daily Star are citing Don Balon which is like Tribal Football. I think is Morata is basically done, Cadena SER and even Real mouthpiece Marca are virtually confirming it for 70M euros.

That would be good move for Milan. Andre Silva and Jorge c**t Mendes in Milano to discuss personal terms.

True but that's because have a socialist wage structure. We pay squad players and deadwood more than we should, but won't give top wages to the best players.

That's really not the case either. There's as much disparity as at most other clubs. Arsenal's highest-paid player (Özil) and Bayern's highest-paid player (Lewandowski) both make about £140,000 a week and the Gunners have a lot of players who range between £30k and £65k. Still more spread out between that Alexis' £130k. Some below as well. You'll find similar ranges on most other top clubs. The only guys who make significantly more at Real Madrid are Ronaldo and Bale. If Arsenal signs Alexis and Özil to anything close to the wages being reported they won't be that far from the Ronaldo/Bale stratosphere (and they'll be making more than Messi, Neymar and Suarez, the three big contracts at Barcelona).

I'll grant you that there are a couple or three guys who haven't been living up to their wages (Wilshere, for instance), but you can find the same at the other big clubs.

It's bad management.

If you don't want hold Wenger accountable then that's fine, but some of us do as it leaves Arsenal weaker.
Here's a fairly detailed article on the subject. I do think you're wrong to blame Wenger on this one though. His handling of his Bremen tenure would indicate an impetuous/impatient yet talented young guy. Anyway, enjoy.

I'd have expected the likes of Van Dijk, Veratti, Alexis and Kane to be targeted by the BIGGEST (according to themselves) club in the world, seems like they're going for top four quality rather than title winning standard players.

Did try signing Verratti last season tbf.

Lines like this actually drive me mad
"It was impossible for Arsène Wenger to guarantee first team football to Gnabry with him having Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of him in the pecking order."

Theo Walcott has single-handedly ****ed this squad up for over a decade now! The argument could also be made that the OX was rubbish at the time. Although that has turned out well in our favour so can't fault that thinking.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
