From those photos you can see Jack's upper body strength. He doesnt look the type that will grow much taller which is great. He looks similar in build to a lot of the Argentinan players like Mascherano, Tevez, Messi. Lots of upper body strength with short legs. Apparantly players like that are delbrately hand picked and developed as they fit their style of play best of due to their close control, agility and the ability to play in tight spaces.

Dennis Bergkamp was watching on last night apparently, and I bet he was impressed by the touch and vision Wilshere displayed yesterday. He was excellent throughout, even if he was a bit quieter on the left than he was on the right. Surely towards the end of the season he will be starting some games for the first team, he is simply too good for reserve level already. Coquelin impressed once again, and in the second half Merida showed why he should be played centrally.

Obviously the main positive though was seeing Eduardo play again after so long out. He looked surprisingly sharp as well, would have loved him to take one of his chances but it was a very promising comeback.

So Eduardo really played yeaterday! Didn´t believe he will ever play again and look, so glad to see him back. He looks really strong and resolute on the pictures from the game. I just hope everything will go well for him from now, he deserves a lot for the suffering he had to pass.

*WARM WELCOMING EDY*

Dindnt notice this yesterday but from some of the pictures in teh papers today, Eduardo looks bigger.

I noticed that immediately, although it was hard to judge whether it was muscle or fat.

In regards to the game yesterday, Ramsey was shockingly poor. He had ideas, but his lack of discipline was very clear. It's no wonder Wenger hasn't played him in the First Team because he is still very immature on the ball, which is to be expected, though. Both Ramsey and Merida are far behind Wilshere mentally, even if they have similar technical ability.

I think Dennis has his foreign trainee at Arsenal this week. All the participants of the Dutch manager course must have one week of experience as a member of the training staff at a foreign club. Patrick Kluivert has it this week at AC Milan so I think Dennis has it this week at Arsenal.

Wilshere is awesome but at the end of the day he's more of the same (albeit same good stuff).

It's Coquelin's performance that has me aflutter.

kids got it aint he. Bit of everything about him.

I genuinely believe if we could just skip to 2011, we would have virtually the perfect team/squad without signing anybody.

Eduardo says he can be better than ever.

EDUARDO insists he will be stronger than ever when he makes a first-team comeback with Arsenal next month.

The Croatia striker played in the reserves on Tuesday night as he returned from the horrific broken leg that kept him out for 10 months.

And Eduardo, 25, said: “The injury was very hard for me but I’m happy now and need more training and reserve games, then I’ll be back.

“In two weeks I hope I’ll be ready to play. Maybe I can be better than before.”

Eduardo’s leg was snapped in a tackle by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor. And boss Arsène Wenger warned: “For Eduardo to be back in the team will not be a physical problem, it will be more a psychological hurdle to go back into the fight.”

The Gunners have restructured their board of directors, with Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith leaving the club.

New chief executive Ivan Gazidis joins the board on January 1.

He's been here for more than a year. Sometimes we cut footballers too much slack. If you can't hold at least a basic conversation after a year there is seriously something wrong.

True

I think age, maturity and experience plays a part. It really is great to have Eduardo back. He's international class. I know some people have raised doubts over how effective he was before his injury but for me ther isnt any. His goalscoring record is phenomenal. I reckon if he gets involved this season that 4th is pretty much guranteed.

finally we have someone other than Bendtner to play as a striker.

From the clips I saw he looks quite sharp and fit and almost scored a great goal if it wasnt for a fine save. Just a matter of getting match fit now

Looks like he's out for two weeks.

The Arsenal boss said: "It is still a bit early because he will be out for two weeks and then he has to get his fitness back.

"In two weeks we already have the Plymouth game and he will not be capable to play in that game."

But Wenger has been impressed with the way the Brazilian-born striker has battled back from the injury.

"He is fantastically keen and a dream to work with," said the Gunners boss.

"But when you have been out for 10 months, it takes some time to come back to your best form."

Sigh. How often have we seen that over last few years here? Player comes back from long term injury only to be injured again on his return.

Thankfully its only minor though.

Eduardo really seems to have impressed Wenger with his attitude though which is good to see. Have to say Eddy comes across as a geuine guy

Arsenal Quotes

What does Arsenal mean? It means class. The structure of the Club, everything has a classy feel about it. It isn't always about success, there is more than that and this is what makes it a cut above the rest.
