I think that the best case scenario would be Gervinho and Alvarez coming in for Bendtner and Rosicky respectively, however we both know that this isn't going to happen.

Yep that'd be improving the team.

We need to make these signings and convince Nasri to sign and/or Cesc to stay.

I think Alvarez will probably prefer Inter more than us.

There are few Argie players in there: Zanetti, Cambiasso, Milito, Walter Samuel and Inter is known to have had Argetinian players throughout the years.

When he might have been free or cheap ... we were talking. As soon as that 10m plus figure got bandied about ... we had left for cheaper targets.

He was quite a high profile Argentine to boot. Still can't forget Owen destroying him on his way to scoring that wonderful goal in the 98 World Cup. Say what you want about him, but Owen was world class during his time at Liverpool. A true one-man wrecking machine much like his predecessor, Robbie Fowler. Still quite unbelievable that he won the Ballon D'or, though.

Reports in Italy and Argentina saying Alvarez has chose Inter ahead of us. Both clubs reportedly had bids accepted. It's not the end of the world because he would definitely have been a project for Wenger, someone who required a lot of intensive work to become a top player, but the guy oozes class and talent and will become a good player at Inter, in time.
