Not the best performance, but a pretty decent response to Fulham the other day.
I thought Theo had a good game. Pretty dangerous at times and got into great positions in the first half. Just needs to learn to be a bit more selfish sometimes when going for goal would be the better option than crossing. But that all comes with age and experience. Brilliant finish for his goal, very befitting of the number on his back.

For those who were there, did Steve Mclaren get much abuse at al? Couldn't really hear anything on the TV. Also, was I right in hearing a fair amount of displeasure when it was announced Eboue was on for Nasri?

how can you play so bad 4 consecutive games and still win. You must be lucky but when luck runs out you will see just like last season FA cups and C.C. you only have luck so much then reality checks in.

Only watched the first half and it was a very average performance, a lot of players looked rusty out there but got the job done. Fabregas in particular looked well off the pace but good to see him back and just having there half fit is better than any of our other CMs which speaks volumes about him but is also kind of worrying.

you don't get lucky on a regular basis if you don't put yourself in a position to get lucky. Hence you create your own luck. You don't get lucky with a deflection if you don't kick the ball towards goal

Ant, I'm genuinely sorry. No. He won't. That performance will convince Wenger there's absolutely nothing he needs to do. It's not about the money, he had that before, he just has a bigger pile now. He just doesn't want to sign anyone.

great profomance, gallas and nasri are out joint top scorers, this time last season hleb was, hope they keep up the good form for the entire season.

If Liverpool had constant pressure and created loads of chances against Standard and in their other two games this season and got a late goals, then they would not be lucky. When you do nothing for the entire game, the defender marking the goalscorer forgets how to defend and the goalkeeper forgets he's supposed to stop the ball from going into the net, late in the game for a 3rd consecutive game, then its fair to say Liverpool are lucky.

Just like if someone wins the lottery they are still lucky dispite buying the ticket. Hence 'making your own luck' either applies to everything and is therefore a pointless phrase, or it doesnt make sense. Take your pick.
