What's with the bloody love for Gudjonsen?

I'd have
Carvallo, Gallas and Gravesen.

Carvalho because he is the best CB in the EPL next to Sol, Gallas because he is the most versatile defender in the EPL by FAR, and Gravesen because he is better than everyone of our midfielders except for Vieira. Gravesen is a trully underappreciated player.

Question for those who haven't said Steven Gerrard. Why? I don't mean to sound flipant in this, and it's an honest question. Surely you would want who is now arguably (notice that last word) the premierships finest midfielder? If I wasn't a Liverpool fan, I know I would want him. Sensible answers only please :)

i think a lot of fans wouldn't want to hamper cesc's development by keeping him out of the team until vieira is ready to retire/move on - which would be the case if we got gerrard

is that sensible enough?

We've got a Manc in the room.

We've got a person who appreciates good players even in rival teams in the room.

Just about :)

I think that is about the only possibly answer that would make sense to me. You have an unbelievable talent on your hands, and he will become one of the best players in the world if he carries on improving at the rate he has done. Him and Flamini ran the show against Chelsea last week and I was one of the millions of impressed viewers. At 17 though, players like that need to be protected, treated with kid gloves almost. It would make sense for him to only be used as sparingly as possible for the next couple of seasons whilst he becomes a bit stronger and really gets used to the pace and style of the prem.

Cech, Alonso, SWP, King.

Yes I've picked Alonso over Gerrard, believe it or not. Part of me has done it just to be different :p , but I really do rate the guy. Absolutely superb passer. It's his first season so he's perhaps a bit inconsistent and still getting used to the English game, but he is going to be an excellent Premiership player. Doesn't have the energy levels of Gerrard, but he's probably more talented. We probably don't need him as we have Fabregas who is a similar player, but midfield playmakers like them and Xavi, Pirlo etc. are the kind of players I really like.

Cech for obvious reasons. Looks a great 'keeper and is young importantly. SWP would also be a great addition. Not just for his talent, but he is a Gooner which is important. Also why I'd like King. Good defender that can compete with Toure for a place alongside Sol. We need more Arsenal supporters playing for us.

The only realistic signings there are SWP or King, but we can always dream eh?

Good post.

You only have to look round the Liverpool boards to see how highly he is already rated due to his ability and attitude. He's been first rate so far, and I've not seen a player at Anfield since Big Jan, pass the ball like he does. He can pass it 50 yards with his left foot, as well as he can kock it 5 yards square with his right. And most importantly he barely ever gives it away.

I think the biggest thing about him though is his attitude. He's said all the right things so far, and according to insiders, he absolutely loves the club. He wants to go on and be a success here, and did a recent interview basically telling Stevie Gerrard to have more patience as he will be rewarded soon enough. He can see Rafa is doing the business and will make us great again.

He'd be a worthy successor as captain should Gerrard's patience fail and decide he wants to move to London or Madrid.
