20:00 kick off, so no sunlight in this for Casper to go missing as every dog in the PL will be watching this game closely on a Friday night after a long week at work:

If Saliba isn’t fit then I’d start with this:

Trossard
Martinelli Ødegaard Jesus
Zinchenko Jorginho
Tierney Gabriel White Partey
Ramsdale
Partey can invert during the game next to Jorginho with Tierney playing in a 3 at the back similar to what Pep is doing. We’ll have more bodies in the middle of the pitch and dominate the game imo which we’ve been lacking in recent games.

This is our best time to try something different and be creative before we go to the Etihad.

Arsenal 4-0 Southampton

Let’s FOGGIN DO THIS!!!!!!

Of course if we carry on like this even Chelsea Nottingham and Wolves will be struggle to win.

The team have to get back to basics now forgot about the title and try finish season strongly.

That's a good shout yeah. Zinchenko - Partey double pivot with Tierney at full back. I would actually like to see that.
makes more sense than what we did last week as Arteta has Tierney trying to do the inverted thing that he is crap at. Let both Tierney and Zinchenko play more to their strengths. But arteta is stubborn with his system and wont adapt to the player he has available.

Maybe we had an upgrade? A keeper who's world-class at saving enalties to the point that he has a world cup winners medal?
A keeper who demanded to leave because we wouldn't guarantee him to be first choice after like 10 games at the top level when his competitor had been one of our best players for 2 straight seasons. Good for Emi that its worked out for him, but no manager can give into an ultimatum like that.

They were time wasting in the ET too.

Need to cut this out of the sport completely. I hope we don’t try and pull these shenanigans at the Etihad.

I swear Ramsdale got booked once in the first half for time wasting too this season, refs are a disgrace 😅

Vieira was actually so pathetic lose every 50/50 likely was too early for him to be in PL.

Its up to him he got ability and i still believe in him but keep being soft and can't compete you have no place in PL no excuse about being short or thin
Tbh I'm not even sure what he was doing on the pitch. In my book he's behind both Jorginho and Tierney in the position that he played in.

Maybe Jorginho and Tierney have fitness issues? Or maybe they were being saved for Man City? It's possible. Because playing Viera in a must-win game like this is bizarre.

With the injuries/momentum shift/lack of experience, I am dreading that City game now...not sure what Arteta can do to get a result, as I don't think he will play defensive.

End of the season will feel kinda long now, been a good season but a disappointing end....shame.

I think individual mistakes cost us & the pressure is definitely getting to some of the players.
I can totally understand it tbh when you are up against a totally freakish juggernaut team like City.
All conceded goals were very sloppy imho but I will give some credit to Southampton for the 1st.
Reckon they had really done their homework & decided to target the ball out from the back.
Their 3rd goal was the real killer.
Once they get the flick on at the near post they have the advantage. We should be more alert to it.

He positioning was poor he cant hold the ball because he weak he scared to get into 50/50 that not good enough

It would be understandable if we didnt win it due to results at newcastle and city away. And city went perfect. This is kinda what I expected. But we are bottling it to West Ham and Southhampton at home conceding 5 sloppy goals; this leaves a bad taste at the moment.

Zinchenko & Jesus elevated us to title challenger status. I don't think anyone will dispute that. They're also serial winners, you can see how much it hurts them to lose or even draw. They're used to winning.

With respect to Zinchenko, the stupid mistake Arteta made against Liverpool was not getting Zinchenko off the pitch sooner. Zinchenko is critical for our build up game, he's a level above Tierney or anyone else in that department.

But once we were in the lead against Liverpool, and especially in the last 30 minutes, he should have been replaced for Tierney and unfortunately it's mistakes like that which can cost the title.

The players still haven't shaken off that collapse at Liverpool. I said it before that it was a season-defining fixture and it proved to be so.

I don't have an issue with Zinchenko starting every game otherwise. Maybe Arteta should think about a Zinchenko - Partey double pivot in midfield with Tierney at left back? I'm curious to see if that could work, I don't see why it couldn't.

As for Jesus, his hold-up play is excellent and let's be honest - aside from today's game, he kept scoring for us after his return.

Yes Jesus had a terrible game today - no question about that. But we would be throwing in the towel if we didn't start him against Man City. I hope he will be fit and available for that one.
In summary, rookie coach Arteta has made costly errors in the last 3 games

Have Southampton ever scored 3 goals a game this season? They scored like less than 30.

Well good for them they scored more than Chelsea probably and hopefully they go down we just struggle against them.

Honestly, the last three games (and tbf significant parts of the season) have been so utterly bizarre that I genuinely think anything could happen on Wednesday. Equally and on the evidence of tonight, anything could happen in our remaining 5 games also.

**** it, let’s roll…

Arsenal Quotes

I believe the target of anything in life should be to do it so well that it becomes an art.
When you read some books they are fantastic, the writer touches something in you that you know you would not have brought out of yourself. He makes you discover something interesting in your life.
If you are living like an animal, what is the point of living? What makes daily life interesting is that we try to transform it to something that is close to art. And football is like that.
