The problem with Ward-Prowse is that he offers exceptional end product above what he should.
If you take set pieces out of the equation he doesn’t really carry the ball at a high level, he’s not someone who creates much from open play either off the dribble or from passing.
Considering he’s easily going to cost 40M at best, if we’re looking to solve a creativity issue rather than a decent holding midfielder who’s lethal from free kicks and the occasional corner there’s better options out there.
Maddison while the injuries have been frustrating is the complete attacking midfielder but is also great at set pieces. He’s consistently been excellent in the PL from open play at both passing and carrying the ball.
Whereas JWP is more of a 1 dimensional player Maddison is the whole package.

Yeah they’d definitely be expensive. You could probably get more value overseas fwiw.
We should be looking at more players in the Championship than we do currently imo. Get the next Maddison and Grealish before they’d go out of our price range.

Actual mods on this forum tried to convince me Cedric Soares was a good signing, some people just shill for the club.
Nobody said he was a good signing, just pointed that Arteta said he wanted "specialists" at full-back instead of midfielders out of position there like AMN and Saka.

He's got the best cross I guess, might be what he meant.
It kinda makes sense when I read up on it, but still poor and there's no hiding that it's a dodgy transfer especially as we didn't even consult our scouts this was purely a contact led signing.

We're a club that should be trying to get rid of players and do an overhaul of all these bums but instead we sign guys like Willian, Mari and Soares to long term contracts because of Kia and then Raul gets sacked because it was obviously fraudulent.
I doubt Arteta has much of a say in players, maybe he has more now Raul and Fahmy and all these guys got sacked but I wonder if he has to go through Edu first.

This isn't a signing that improves us in any way shape or form. I'd also argue that Xhaka is of far higher value than Eriksen.
Cant wait for 2 years down the line when we're paying a combined £400K a week to Eriksen and Willian to train with the under 23s. :frustrated:

Cedric was obviously a Kia related con job. Got a 4 year deal and Arteta barely even uses him. I think these were deals that Arteta had to accept given our previous structure. Under our new structure he calls all the shots.
