The last 4 days have been revenge for March 2003, when Rafa knocked us out of the Champions League!

FA Cup Final 2001 + Beating us 4-0 in 2000/2001 + Outplaying us at anfield last season

I hope arsenal release a DVD with these two games on it similar to the 'up for grabs now' DVD. These have been two of the best wenger-arsenal performances I have ever seen. It has made me truly, truly proud to be an arsenal fan. I just wish the season would end at this exact point - because I am on cloud f****g nine!

One thing that impressed me about Baptista and I've pointed it out before is how aggressive his attacking runs are. His second goal was proof of that, pass to Aliadere and straight away he was busting his lung to get himself into a goal scoring position. How many times watching Arsenal have you seen a ball fly across the 6 yard box and the nearest player is 15 yards back waiting for a cut back. I've always felt we have at least 10-15 league goals short due to us not having a real poacher or someone who doesn't always score those lovely goals that we specialise in. Wenger talked about him having those runs in his locker and how he was one of those players who always seems to be in the right position at the right time and he has that killer instinct infront of goal. He goes for the kill and his runs show that as well, too many of our players after passing hang around or move to the side to get the ball back but I like how he was getting right into the box because we just don't players that do that enough. He always has goal scoring intentions and I love about him.

I think his touch looked well rusty still but his overall play was much better and I felt he was linking up much better with the players around him. He needed a game like this to kick start his arsenal career and saw his interview and his English is coming along very nice as well. If we can get this guy to work in our system he will score a lot of goals for us, possibly be up there with Henry as he is a goal scorer which is very different to what we have right now.

Best post ever by a Sp**s fan?:

"I have watched football for 17 years, i have seen some incredible comebacks and terrible defeats never, have witnessed a game of football like tonight.Being a Sp**s fan all my life, i have lived through the happy and sad times, but i have never seen a game like tonight. To see modern day football, and to watch Liverpool concede six at home to an Arse*** B team has amazed me, it was actaually "Frightening" watching it.People may say it was not Liverpool's 1st team but to go to Anfield, and play Liverpool off the park take some admiration.

The Arse*** youngsters really have made me tihnk what a tough 2 legged tie we have, these Arse*** youngsteres i hate to say is the next upcoming generation, and look good enough to beat anyone on their day, there passing was amazing, and finishing top draw.I am pretty worried, but i am in shell shock at what i have seen tonight. When looking at the score, it seemed to go beyond a anyone's wildest dream.

However i am very confident, our Sp**s side can go to Arse***, and get a decent result, with us being at home i hope to kill the game in the 1st leg.We must play our full team, Wenger has just said he will put out his youngsters, i believe we can win this cup belief is need, guts and instinct and a little bit of luck, i am going for a laydown and a couple of asprins

COYS!!!!! "

Good post.

I would also mention this match has demonstrated why Baptista is a striker, and not a midfielder.

baptista is an offensive midfielder. hi starting position has to be between the lines so he has that space to strike and there is space in front of him to attack.

which is why he won' be here next year, we just can't accommodate him fulltime.

We seriously need to think about a 4-3-3 system, the amount of un-used offensive talent we have is a worry. I don't want anyone else snapping up these players either - so we definitely need to re-think about how everyone is going to fit in. Maybe rotate the midfield? Rotate the strikers? Anything. We just need to keep everyone happy and its going to be difficult to do this within the next two years...

despite what people say, i think baptista will get games wide because thats whre wenger likes his offensive midfielders.

take his 3 goals after the free-kick. at arsenal the forwards are mobile and they will take up wide positions, that pushes the wide players infield so they can do what baptista did. his second goal, how many times has pires done that? play the ball wide to a forward then follow up.

that said, i think he could sstill leave because wenger would prefer his wingers to be more agile and more mobile and quicker. also, his overall game isnt up to par and we dont know how long that could take to fix itself.

we'll see though. it all depends on madrid. we wont pay the 15 million they want. his goals are a good incentive to try to incorporate him into this team and wenger did chase him for a full summer.

I guess I should've made my self clearer - I think he could do a good job as a second striker.

I've just re-watched the game up until our sixth goal and I will now trot off to bed with the widest of smiles.

Which is exactly why I wouldn't want him to play on the wings.

So you would start Freddie ahead of Ali?

How strange.
