Cech - 7, did his job well even if he didn't have much to deal with.
Mustafi - 7, was sloppy with the ball but did his job defensively.
Koscielny - 9, Absolute warrior this guy.
Monreal - 9, Fantastic as usual, very aggressive and is becoming a leader.
Bellerin - 8, Very good performance down the flank causing Alonso problems and keeping him quiet the other end.
Xhaka - 7, Did well in possession, his tackling could be a bit better.
Ramsey - 10, absolutely bossed midfield today.
Kolasinac - 8, Fantastic again.
Iwobi - 6, a decent game.
Lacazette - 5, thought he was alright, didn't do a lot.
Welbeck - 8, did his usual big game role excellently.

Elneny - 5, didn't really do much to give him a high rating.
Giroud - 6, did well defensively.
Alexis - 5, was alright, did look a bit lazy defensively tho.

So according to some, given that Liverpool beat us by 4 and now we've drawn Chelsea, we'd expect Liverpool to beat Chelsea by similar scoreline.

Re: the lacazette miss, I'm surprised a lot has been made of it, iirc, he was leaning back a bit to hit that so I think it's understandable he didn't have it under control.

I thought Iwobi was quite good in the first half - if give him a 7/7.5 (I only caught the last few minutes of the 2nd).

What does mustafi have to do to be considered better than he's generally rated, again I believe he was quite good in this match.

Xhaka can have this laid back unflappable attitude that causes him to give away silly passes. It's frustrating n endearing at the same time.

Anyway, nice to come away with a point even if a little frustrating knowing it could have been better with a little more luck.

Also we've played 3 of out most difficult opponents away from home and are not far away, keep the focus and it could be a good'ish season

Cech - Wasn't tested often but when he was he came up big. Making a big save in first half, a big save in the second and delt with a good cross comfortably.

Kos - Started off shaky seeming like he was getting used to RCB role postional wise. Eventually Kos settled down and produced a strong performance overall, winning a number of important challenges e.g. two important ones in quick succession round the 82 minute mark.

Mustafi - Was caught too far forward on 2 occasions in the first half but overall a very strong performance.

Monreal - solid throughout, faultless really. A performance straight out his 15/16 season.

Bellerin - His crossing and link up play was so much more better than usual. However Bellerin came up second best in the 50/50s and physical challenges against Alonso and one real sickening incident were he completely bottled it against him.

Kolasinac - Started off shaky the first 20 minutes. Far more improved performance in the second half.

Xhaka - Has been uncharacteristically sloppy with his passing of late. Defensively solid winning possession back on numerous occasions.

Ramsey - Chelsea left a lot of space between the lines and this suited Ramsey perfectly who produced his best performance in a Arsenal shirt in a long while.

Iwobi - Defensively worked very hard closing opposition down. Going forward Iwobi didn't offer enough though.

Welbeck - Made a couple of good runs in the first half but didn't offer enough going forward.

Lacazette - His first touch and link up play was uncharacteristically poor. Also that miss!

Alexis - Made one flash back heel to Elneny and made one poor first touch turning over possession cheaply. Apart from from that Alexis did nothing of note when he came on

Giroud- Came on and did his best Diaby impression strolling about looking disinterested.

nah keeping a clean sheet and getting a point at Stamford bridge is not easy for anyone... We played a good disciplined game, created the better chances and only margines/poor finishing stopped us from getting the win, can't ask for much more really. Performance wise that was good by anyone's standards, result wise it was decent..
I think there's a misunderstanding here, your last sentence pretty much proves that we have the same opinion.

Top defending, good transitional play, fight, created some good chances. Would have been stalwart performance even if the bar had been high.
Why is this considered exceptional? That should be the least you expect from a top side. "Fight" should be a prerequisite in a London derby ffs. If a Moruinho or Pochettino team had given that performance you'd be mocking them for not scoring and parking the bus.

Like I said, it was a good performance and it could have been even better if they'd nicked a goal. It only looks "excellent" because the Anfield horror show is your frame of reference, Chelsea weren't at their best either.

No, he doesn't have a point.

It's the sort of performance that teams who win the league put in.

Got to dig deep to criticise that , and @American_Gooner used a giant shovel
He didn't criticise it though, I noticed someone say it was a very good, solid performance and I agree with that.

But excellent? Surely we reserve excellent for a performance where we actually win? Maybe we're just arguing over definitions again.

12th place after 5 games still feels pretty bad
Yeah not good viewing the table, but we've already gone away to Chelsea and Liverpool and beaten Leicester. Some tough games under the belt already.

We need a good run of wins now and things will start to shape up more nicely.

Still digging mate  We didn't park the bus. It was a well balanced performance.

They had every advantage, home, more expensive squad, momentum, league champions. We didn't allow them to play and had the best chances.

Wouldn't have mocked any team for a performance like that tbf. Even the Sky pundits praised us. Imagine that.

Brilliant performance. This needs to be pinned on the wall in Wenger's office to remind him to always play this way, especially away from home, and not just following a trauma like at Anfield. Complacency can't creep in.

Nothing's really expected of us this season, I'll be happy with more performances like that and a few masterclasses from Alexis/Özil before they leave.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe the target of anything in life should be to do it so well that it becomes an art.
When you read some books they are fantastic, the writer touches something in you that you know you would not have brought out of yourself. He makes you discover something interesting in your life.
If you are living like an animal, what is the point of living? What makes daily life interesting is that we try to transform it to something that is close to art. And football is like that.
